Course Curriculum Overview

4

As every year, I see The average package of CU goes very good and I have chosen CSE, which is computer science engineering. There is a good scope in this and I've chosen the course by interest as I have interest in computers and after going to Chandigarh University teachers also help me out to get more interested in this course teacher help me to get improved in coding, communication skills and etc. Questions which are asked and examinations are all from LMS, which is a portal provided to the student by the college

Internships Opportunities

4

College provide a good internship opportunities to students who are talented by the ending of second year. Internships are offered to the students in many companies and student get many opportunities.

Placement Experience

4.5

Every year, many company, come to college for placements like TCS ,Google, Infosys, Microsoft and many big companies which offers a great package to students and the average package every year goes is 3,5,00,00 per annum All those 80% of student get placement within the college and the rest. Either does not sit for the placement or not eligible to sit or to get the placement. After getting the bachelor degree. My goal is to achieve a masters in my own field at CSE after Completing my masters, I will look around for job

Fees and Financial Aid

Although although the annual fee of a CSE student is 1,20,000, but a very good good thing about CU Is that they conduct scholarship examination And it's totally depend on the student that how much the score in that exam based on that they get scholarship

Campus Life

4.5

Although the campus is very good, very environmental Good cultural events are also held within the college. Students are asked to participate with the interest. Sports management is also good as this year 2023. Many students of Chandigarh University had taken the medal in common wealth Games which is a big achievement for Chandigarh University and which encourages students of not only Chandigarh University but also the students of other university to take part in sports and to represent their college and all this facilities which are required for sports and cultural events are provided by the college itself

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel faculty is average I will not say good, but the wardens are cooperative with students. All the mess quality is also good, but sometimes the food of the mess cannot satisfy the taste of the students. There is 24 hour availability of electricity And water in the hostel. College campus as well as hostel campus are kept very clean as thousands of stuff are healthy there for only cleaning purpose, which is a very good thing about the campus

Admission

The admission process was easy as I registered on CU set. I get a call back from Chandigarh University for the admission process for explaining me, and it happens with all student who registers. The staffs are very cooperative. They help student throughout the admission process. They give you procedure about complete examination process. All the same areas in admission process should be improved like the charge fee which is around 10,000 for admission charge which is being adjusted in the tuition fee. Student will take admission but 10,000 is a big amount so they should make improvement in this.

Faculty

3.5

First of all the faculty interact with student very nicely and they are very friendly towards a student. But in some cases are the teachers not cooperative or the students. So there is some problem in making a good relation between student and teacher which causes a barrier to teach. Or to interact properly, But mostly the good relation between teachers and students Help teacher to make understand student, what he is trying to say. Teachers help student in every field where they can, but the only thing is that student has to show interest and be attentive in the class. Thank you

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
