Likes

Good environment and good faculty, specially our professor form our department were very friendly
The faculty is very well experienced in teaching and our department provides smart class facility also to enhance our learning

Dislikes

There is no placement system in our college
Infrastructures of our college is very well but the size of the campus is small
The nss and ncc courses gave us very well personality development chances and also the nss has helped in helping the society

Course Curriculum Overview

Our nowgong college is very well reputed in our area and it NAAC accredited A++ to it to other than this, our college geography department is very well reputed The nss has helped us know our responsibility towards our society and helped build personality. Increasing the campus size and also adding a playing ground in the list. The exams are held very soon before six months so it is hard to cope up

Tuition fees are reasonable and there is fee waiver scheme for the EWS students in our college which provides free tuition fees Around 25k is required to complete bachelor's form our college Ishan udday scheme by NSP also sc/st scholarships for SC/ST STUDENTS

Campus Life

Our college celebrates annual sports week and also freshers and farewell are organised by the departments respectively.And several other programs are also organised by the sports secretary Our college library is very big it has over 2000+ books which gives us immense knowledge. The facilities provided by the college are online classes and smart class facilities as well. The sports secretary looks over every sports related programs and encourages us to join and participate in the events. The NSUI is the leading group run by the college union

Admission

The admission process was easy and smooth You need to have 12 or equivalent certificate from and state recognised boards to get admission We had to fill our admission application in our college website and dates were given by the college authorities

Faculty

The faculty to students is very good our college has very good number of teaching and non teaching staff. The teaching faculty are all well qualified and experienced and they care us more . We can interact with teachers when ever we want we can call our teachers if we want

My thoughts about my college

Likes

Faculty members of our college is very good
The thing i like that teacher in our college use projector to teach us
In our college, the students get to join various seminars, which college authorities provide us with time to time

Dislikes

The main thing which i disliked about our college is that our college campus is small if you compare it with other colleges
In our college we dont have clean toilets, and the toilets smells very bad
The next thing is that there were various construction going on in our college so for now thr college environment is healthy enough for a student to perform

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i want to appear for civil services examinations in future, so for me political science subject is helpful for my future career, in our department out faculty trach us in a decent manners, but there are some improvements needed with time

I was interested in political and it influenced me set my decision to choose this course. The curriculum was good enough to prepare me for further academics. The frequency and timings of exams are regular. The difficulty of the exams depends on the student's preparations

Likes

I liked the overall environment of our college
My department (Geography) Faculty members are very good.
The teachers not only help in academics but also guide us for our better well-being.

Dislikes

Construction is going on in the college campus.
Though it has gain the autonomous tag still didn't get any such benefit.
The toilets are very unhygienic and have very bad odour.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Our course is very easy to understand anyone who is new to this branch or doesn't have any idea about geography can easily understand the topics through the guidance of our faculty members. They provide extra classes for better understanding of the students.

When I saw a professor doing the hypnotize process. The curriculum activities are much help to the future or the present generation. For the course curriculum, it is huge so deep explanation is required. No problem in this aspect.

I like the way the teachers of our department interact with us. They are very friendly. The campus is very good. We had sitting place for students to sit and relax when they don't have classes. We had a good playground.
The students of silapathar college are quite wonderful, friendly, helpfull.

Dislikes

Things I don't like about my college is , the principal of our college is quite rude, doesn't interact with the students. He don't even allow to enter to his office.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose English literature because I want to study literature, wants to study more about people. In our department there are very few students, 60% are girls and 40% are boys. We had four teachers in our department, namely, DR. PUBALI BORA KASHYAP (Qualification: M.A, Ph.D., UGC- NET), PREM PRASAD SHARMA (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL), Gitima Deka (Qualification: M.A., M.PHIL), Raju Pegu (Qualification: M.A, M.PHIL). The teachers take tests continuously.

For admission, anyone who has passed his/her 10+2 in any stream can apply by going to the online admission portal(website) but at the time of mine, there was no such facility so We use to go college and apply directly by filling the form(paper-based).

Remarks:

Overall, I'd say college is very good. It is one of the finest colleges in the state. I came from elsewhere to study at this college and I don't regret my decision. I made many new friends and now I am used to the environment so it will be difficult for me to leave this place.

Beyond the classroom: An interactive study of college life.

honestly this college was more preferably cost friendly and flexible from my own hometown and this is the main reason i chose this college over other colleges. I applied to cotton university, guwahati university and arya vidyapith college besides this but managed to get into only arya and my current appointed college. My admission process was based fully on online mode and depended mainly on my high school's percentage but i did appear CUET as well just in case. General cuttoff for my course here is about 75% and above...Read More
