Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The University at first has specified vision and mission of every course and subject which helps the students to understand the course more effectively. The university offers some random unnecessary courses from linkedin and coursera, which the students need to do and they also have an online exam for the same and according to me not all of these online courses have use in real life. If they want to instill moral values and work ethics in students they it dan be done in offline mode also instead going for the online courses. There is a strong need for improvement in teaching methods as most of the faculty is teaching by means of PPTs and giving no practical and hands on experience to the students. The course generally includes more theoretical portion than practical and students lags at solving real world problems .

Placement Experience

2.5

From 6th semester (4 years BE) onwards students become eligible for placements. From 3rd year onwards the whole CSE is divided into two sections- TPP and NTPP . TPP for those who want campus placement. For registering in TPP Rs 9000 are charged abd the CRC department ( placement dept) provides with study material like aptitude books to students. Regular Amcat exams are held for examining student's knowledge related to various core subjects needed for placement. The department also organises DCPD camp and Domain winning camp for preparing students for placement. Earlier the placement of CU were quite good but now it has degraded. The number of companies visiting is decreased. Half of the placement opportunities are shared with CGC landran and jhanjeri and it is worrysome for the students. Half of the students of the batch 2020-2024 are not placed yet. My plans after getting graduate is that I will be preparing for various competitive exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

One thing i like about this university is that it has its own exam called CUCET and this exam provides sscholarship on the basis of the score scored by the students in the exam. University also provoked scholarship on a few other basis like upto 50% scholarship for those who have scored 90% above marks in 12th boards. Upto 10% scholarship is also provided for the siblings studying in the same university. The fees structure for BE CSE for the session 2021-2025 is. Rs 90000 per sem and every year there is hike in the academic fees as per the new admission for example for the session 2023-2027 the academic fees for BE CSE is Rs120000 . So every year it keeps on increasing with new admissions. The same goes for the hostel fees. The hostel fees is more as the facilities provided in hostel are not upto themark.Talking about employement facilities within campus so the department of Student Welfare(DSW) collaborated with CSE 2nd year department and it come up with DBMS role for the students.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is fun here. Here you will get the opportunity to meet many new people belonging to different regions. There are many events organised by the cultural committee of various departments. In the yesr 2023 the department of CSE has started annual project fest, where students can present their projects. Annual fest is also organised in the university and freshers party is also organised. Apart from the departmental events, many other events are also held. In every classroom projectors are installed and now newly built AC ducts are also being installe. There are many cultural clubs like astronomy club, dance club, sports club, content creation club and many more. The university has well built libraries. It has central library and departments also have departmental library. Recently one new library is inaugurated in the south campus and its infrastructure is really great. All types of book are provided in the library. Students can also issue the books by means of library card.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is provided by the university for the students of every course. At the beginning of the course a consent form is shared with the students regarding the hostel facility. There are about 5 girls hostel and 10 boys hostel and also some new hostels are being built for the students. The hostel fee structure keeps on increasing every year with the new admissions. Currently its Rs 120000 for four seater for girls hostel. All the basic facilities are provided in the hostel. Most of the hostels have lift and coolers are installed in the girls hostel and ducts are installing in the boys hostel. Only 3 and 4 seaters room are available for the students. Talking about the food so the quality of mess food is average. 3 meals are provided in the mess and one tea break is also there. The mess staff is quite humble and cooperative. The mess food is prepared under careful supervision and hygiene is given special focus. The hostels also have tuck shops and snack shops.

Admission

The eligibility of the course is 60% in non medical in class 12th. According to the student's marks in the 12th class the scholarships are provided for example- upro 50% scholarship for those who scored above 90% in 12th boards. The admission process is quite smooth and it is done in both online and offline mode. In online mode one person from admission cell will contact the student and will discuss everything related to the course. My admission was done in the same way ( in online mode) . In order to reserve the seat in the course an amount of Rs 5000 needs to be deposited and this amount is refundable. If admission taken then it will be added into students academic fees and if not then it is given back to the student. In order to take admission in BE CSE there is one entrance exam CUCET.Students can give this exam and can avail scholarship benefits. The only area of improvement is that faculty from admission cell contacts you very frequently and sometimes things becomevery irritating

Faculty

3.5

The university has huge amount of faculty and at the time of sectioning 1 mentor is assigned to every class, who resolves their issues. Taking about student to faculty ratio so I can't provide accurate information but i can make a rough guess- (35:1) . 1 faculty for a group of 35 students. Most of the practical lab classes are held in the classroom itself, better known as multipurpose room , as university has lack of software labs. The teaching style varies from teacher to teacher but most of them try to teach by means of ppts . They simply read out the ppt slides in the class and explain nothing. Whereas there are a few teachers who are quite well versed with the subject and teach quite good. Most of the faculty is not experienced , most of them are freshers and they lack the spirit of teaching. Talking about interaction so students can approach their teachers anytime during the working hours and get their doubts solved. Most of the time faculty teases students fir attendance.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
