Remarks

The good part of the college is the placements here. Whether you are a top student or whether you are an average one, you can get placements here. The cultural diversity is great here. The bad part is their management. The college authorities need to upgrade their management so as to make it way better. Because sometimes the management issues can irritate the students and it also leads to work delays. So it needs to be checked and maintained by the college. Rest everything is nice and nothing is perfect in the world. So you need to accept the flaws attached to the good parts.

Entrance Preview

The genuine reason for opting this college was just that it was referred to me by one of my teachers. Soi didn't know anything much about the college. It was just a referral and joining. Nothing much of my sole decision. The teacher who referred to me is also a pass-out from Chandigarh University itself.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum of the university is very good. They have divided the syllabus into parts a such that which of them are the main requirements for the future uses in industries or in the other development works. The syllabus is not as vast as in other colleges. In other colleges, you need to study the whole book and everything related to it. But here you need to just study whatever is relevant to the industrial aspects and for knowledge. So the curriculum thus made here is very well organized as well versed.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, the college provides internships and placements opportunities to its students. There is no fixed general stipend. It depends on the industry where the internship is sought. The stipend is based on the industry and the individual's knowledge & performance.

Placement Experience

4.5

The placements are the must plus point of our university. It provides the best placements in the entire north India campuses. There are a lot of top-notch MNC's like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, HP, etc.. visiting the campus for placements every year. The highest package grabbed by a student till date is 31.77LPA. The average package is 3-3.5LPA.

College Events

4

There are a lot of events celebrated in the campus. Whether it may be a cultural fest or whether it may be a college event. College fest like CU-Fest, Literary Fest, Science Fest, and some other fest are the major events. Others, there are a lot of national-level events held in the campus.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is not so expensive and not so much low also. One from a middle-class family can bear the fee structure of the institution. It's not so expensive if we compare it to the facilities & amenities provided by them. The standard of the infrastructure and facilities like free unlimited wifi, games, etc.. are great here.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yup, there are a lot of scholarship opportunities for the students. If one is from ST.SC.OBC category, from any state, then he/she can easily avail scholarships in the university. Also, there is an entrance exam for admission where if one has a good score then can easily avail scholarships. Other than this, if you score well in your academics and be among the toppers of your department, then again you have the opportunities for scholarships.

Campus Life

4

The campus life is not so cool as it looks like from the outside. there is a way lot of restrictions about where you can gather, timings of entry in the hostel, especially for girls. There are a lot of security guards on the campus. So where-ever you go, there will be security guards to irritate telling that you cannot go there, cannot do this, cannot sit here, blah. blah. The good part is that there are students from all the states of India and other places too. There are students from about 27 other countries in the campus. So one can expect a rich cultural diversity in the campus. There are a lot of options for sports, extracurricular activities, competitions and all. So overall you can adjust here and manage a good life here.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facility is way better than many other colleges and universities. the rooms are nice having spacious almirah, cooler, etc.. The mess food is not so much good but it is at least better than other colleges. You cannot expect food like exact your home but still, you can expect to have better quality than other places. If one had stayed far from home earlier in any hostels then he/she will surely find the food good.

Alumni/Alumna

There are some alumni meets organized in the from time to time to meet the students and provide them with their feedback and also their experiences of the inner and outer world, their achievements and other queries. These are organized so as to motivate the students and gear them up for their future.

Exam Structure

The exams are divided into parts. There are 2 MST's(mid-semester terms) and then the final end semester papers. There are the regular class test, surprise test, and other internal assessments. One can score easily in the exams and the internal marks can help a lot in the overall marks of the tenure. The internal has 40% weightage & final exams have 60% weightage.

Admission

So the college has an admission office in my hometown. So I went to the office and deposited some advance money for admission. Then after a month or so, I came to the campus and here did the admission procedure which is the same as other colleges. (Admission office, form-fillup, documentation, etc..)

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is really nice. Most of them are very young, and also are very friendly with the students. The age relevance helps to set-up a very good relationship between the faculty members and the students. This helps for the nice environment among all.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
