What Students Say

Likes

Overall academic life is good. Teachers are intereactive.
You will get opportunity to enhance your skills.
Extracurricular activities are encouraged.

Dislikes

Placement scenario is not that good. It can do better.
More practical real life challenges need to be introduced rather than just theoretical knowledge.
Lack of competitive environment. But still it is improving.

Course Curriculum Overview

Currently I am pursuing B. Tech in Civil Engineering Degree. Infrastructure growth and construction was the key interest factor for me. Curriculum is as per AICTE approved. There is one lack in teaching of software related to this degree but the gap is merging slowly. 3 test and 1 assignment is conducted per semester and difficulty level is moderate.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 54000 per year

Internships Opportunities

3.5

ITC, PWD, IIT, OIL, ONGC, etc are notable companies and institute where recommendation letters are send on behalf of the student for internship purpose from the training and placement cell of the university.

Placement Experience

2.5

Students become eligible for placement from 7th sem onwards. Many companies like L&T, Bharat Electronics, Amul, Infosys, etc visits. Percentage of students getting placed varies department to department average you can consider 30-40% both on campus and off campus. My plan is basically to get placed after degree.

Fees and Financial Aid

Many scholarships schemes are available as per NSP portal. Moreover assistance is provided to those belonging from BPL category. Fee structure for engineering is almost 27000 per semester and hostel charges includes mess fee which is 2500 approx varying from hostel to hostel.

Campus Life

Campus life is very good. You will get a beautiful campus full of greenery. Many clubs function inside the campus. For student affairs there is a council too named TUSC. Sports and other extracurricular facilities can be considered up to mark.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel rooms are mostly double room except for few hostels. Food quality is average. Registration for hostel is included in the semester fees itself whereas you have to pay per month mess due seperately which is approx 2500 and it varies from hostel to hostel.

Hostel Fee: INR 10000 per year

Admission

Admission is to this course is based on JEE rank. No such other test is conducted for the same. Reservation criteria is available for North East people also known as North East quota. Remaining comes through general allocation. Application and all details will be available in the official website during admission period.

Faculty

4.5

Faculty members are qualified. Some faculties even have post doctoral degree. Most of the faculties are phd holders. Interactive faculties. Overall support and guidance is good throughout the academic life.

Interview Experience

4.5

No. Admission process is for B. Tech degree is solely based on your rank in JEE mains examination. Whereas PI round is conducted where basic details like name, dob, place, etc are asked. There is no such extreme preparation to get admission just get a good rank in jee.

A chapter of growth, my college life

Likes

Since I am in civil dept so the civil dept is the most well maintained and beautiful dept of my college. The faculty members are more or less friendly and good.
Teachers are good and friendly. Specially in civil the seniors are also good and friendly.
In civil dept there are many events which take place as compared to other dept .

Dislikes

Only boys hostel is there but no girls hostel.
In civil dept the placement opportunities are not upto the mark but in other dept specially chemical placement is good even in mechanical too.
Campus can be made more beautiful although work is going on.

Course Curriculum Overview:

See I had the passion for civil since my 10th std. I am really happy about my course . Because there are many job opportunities in govt sector in Assam. I like the teachers of my dept but some are not that friendly . Maybe it depends upon their mood sometimes I don't know really . The civil course is practical it's enjoyable. I would have liked it more if it would had more placement opportunities on campus . Otherwise it's fine

The management cell of the college is also do grat jobs. But the main problem I have found is placement. According to the other colleges the placement of this college is not so good. If the college can give more placement then it will become a great college. Overall its a great college full of knowledge.

Tezpur university insights

I secured 92.7 percentile in JEE. And with that score I got into the ECE branch of Tezpur university. The main reason I choose this college because of its reputation as a central university and the overall growth of students( not only in case of academics). If you are a resident of North East, you can get into the college using North East quota . You can also get in through CSAB or CUET....Read More

A brief description about Tezpur University

As I had applied in Dibrugarh university also for the same course and I got there but I choosed Tezpur university rather than Dibrugarh university as because the reputation of both the universities are best in there own but TU is a central university and DU is a state university, so there will be much more opportunities and advancement in a central university then a state university and all the family members and others suggested me to take admission here...as Tezpur university is more famous and known by everyone then dibrugarh university. To take admission here and get enrolled in my course (MCA), we have to give an entrance exam which is called "TUEE" by qualifying this exam one can get admission here from any background in bachelor as because there are two MCA courses available here, one is breached and other is non-breached. Breached course is for people with other background in bachelors which is for 3years and Non-breached courses is for people with background in computer science in bachelors which is for 2years. The cutoff changes every year according. One can also get enrolled here in other courses and departments by qualifying exams like CUET, JEE, CAT, MAT etc... Getting a chance to study here is a big opportunity for me....Read More
