Likes

Faculties are good and supportive and lenient
College is very close to main city ambikapur
Plenty of time to do other things like coding and all

Dislikes

The campus is not made completely and college runs in incomplete campus
No placement comes cse and few companies which do come offer negligible slary
Hostel is given only to a small number of people and no hostel facility for girls. Others have to stay in private PGs or private hostels

Course is standard BTech syllabus as per CSVTU which is followed by all the other government colleges in chhattisgarh. Since the college is also a govt owned college it have similar system . For more course detail you can find the syllabus in official CSVTU website

This year a single company named Accenture is hiring but only for females and the entire process will be online . College doesn't help much in placements. We have to depend on off campus or go for post graduation .

Fees and Financial Aid

Tution fee is very minimal as it is a government organisation college and their are no hikes in tution fee or other fees. The complete fee for first year is around 24k and after that 21 k from consecutive year till final year. Scholarship is given to top performers in cgpet and obc St SC which is full fee for fee waiver and around 26 k for obc and 32 k for sc/st

Campus Life

Since the college is still in development phase there are no such fests. There were a few functions just like we have in school. But we are given option to take part in csvtu techfest and sports festival held in state level There are labs for CSE students and other equipment as well For sports ground is not developed till now but we take use of govt grounds for our sports function which last for two three days Student run group is SAC, Nss and red ribbon club

Admission

To take admission you have to give cgpet or jee or boards(in last round of councelling if seats are left) First students have to appear for cgpet and on the basis of that score the cgdte councelling gives seat if seats are left in college then jee mains scored are also used in admission At last there is spot councelling if few seats left all pet and jee students taken admission then decided by boards score Cgpet is easy exam similar to boards

Their are enough faculties in computer science department at current moment. Few are permanent govt teachers done their studies from iits and nits and rest are adhoc teachers . Interaction with faculty is good and many of them are helpful

There is a café named "Pai chai" which is very amazing and lots of people hangout there for its great Cup of tea.
there are so many good staff and teachers for us to teach. most of them graduated from NITs/IITs and even from IIMs.

Dislikes

There is too less hostels for us. especially for those who are from other states.
Teachers give too much assignment work. very hard to deal with.

Placement Experience:

The placement of our college pretty good for the higher branch like Cse , Ece , IT but for lower branches like ours is very low Only 5-10 students got placed last year from biotech . Whereas the placement percentage of Cse is around 90% . The highest package offered was 56 LPA , that is told us in Induction Program.

IIIT Naya Raipur has best campus!!

Since NTPC holds a stake in our college our placements are guaranteed.
Chattisgarh Government has provided a lot of scholarship for students of our college and mostly to girls to encourage girl child education.
Many innovations and researches are promoted as our college believes in building IT leaders.

Dislikes

Hostels are not cleaned daily and sometimes we are left to do it on our own.

Placement Experience:

At IIIT Naya Raipur from 2022 where 74 out of 180 students were placed in 2025 the number increased to 127. So placements are surging and so are the numbers are also increasing heavily as well. 10 lakhs it is after 2025 and by next year I wish it to be 15 or more.

Likes

The faculties are really good at their respective subjects and are eager to help the students.
The computer systems are really good and updated
The network connectivity (wifi) is really good for all classrooms.

Dislikes

Placement opportunities needs to be improved a lot.
The college focuses more on attendance but it should focus more on skillset of students.
The infrastructure is somehow old and it should be developed.

Placement Experience:

To be honest placement scenario is not really good. One becomes eligible for placement in the final year. Companies like cognizant used to visit the college for mass recruitment but after covid even they are not visiting. But few startups visit every year. The highest package this year was 12 lpa ctc. And avg 6 lpa. Only 30 percent get placement. My plan is to do M TECH.

Honest Review of BIT Durg by a student

Likes

Overall infrastructure is good and clean. There are different outlets in the canteen area, one can get different foods. Plus it also has an cafe, in case you need a cup of coffee!
Facilities are nice and helpful with few exceptions.
Sport infrastructure is good, but needs maintenance

Dislikes

I don't really like the campus life here, it's boring, nothing interesting happens here.
Some faculties are super mean, They scold you for small things.
I don't like the fact that fees doesn't decrease, they should atleast decrease each year if not semester wise.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason why I chose this curriculum is because I've a keen interest in computer programming. The exams aren't really hard if you know the basics and the curriculum. The Faculties are well educated but low-key outdated. Speaking of curriculum, I feel like the curriculum is super outdated and needs to be changed.

Tougher actions required related to ragging among boys
No onsite internships allowed in 1st and 2nd yr

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to sit in campus placements after or during 3rd yr in btech. Intership guidance is also provided in 2nd yr onwards . Highest package of 2023 is 33 lpa with avg. Package of 5lpa. For branch like mechanical more than 90% students are placed. My plan is to take management minor in 2nd yr. And after graduation I will either go for MBA or first get placed and continue MBA while having a job.

Likes

The infrastructure of the college is good. Campus is well maintained. The greenery in the university is pleasant for the students.
The facilities provided by the college for classes is well equipped. As a CSE student, all the labs and classrooms are AC equipped with smart boards for classes.
The fest is celebrated in a grand way which is Technorollix which is held during the month of March-April every year.

Dislikes

Lack of good health facilities. The medical centre is not efficient enough if someone faces a serious injury.
Hostel equipments maintenance is one of the issues I didn't liked as I am a Hosteller.
Campus is too far from the main city. Due to which dayscholars have to travel for atleast 45-50 minutes daily to reach college and to go home.

Placement Experience:

As I am Btech Student, every student become eligible for campus placements after 7th Semester. Many companies visits the college such as JSL, TCS, Muthood Finance, Flipkart etc:- every year. Highest Package here was 33 Lakhs Per Year on Amazon by Sujeet Soni. And average package of the college varies from 4.8-4.9 lakhs per annum. Students getting placed varies from 85-89% success rate.

My college experience

Likes

Government engineering College Raipur. The college provides good campus. There is also present sports facilities and sports teacher.

Dislikes

The theoretical part is good but practical knowledge is bad.
Campus buildings are big and no lift so it was bad.

Specific aspects of the curriculum that influence me that is my branch is electronics and telecommunication there is study hardware and software both. That i am this course choose. For improvement in the course curriculum and teaching methods more focus practical knowledge not the theoretical.

Life at NIT Raipur

Likes

Campus life is really good with great environment.
Many events which help students learn group working skills and other managing skills.
Faculty is friendly and perfectly trained.

Dislikes

Hostel is not alloted to all the students
The frequency of is a bit high.Preparation time is not enough for exams.

Placement Experience:

Students from 6th semester are eligible for placements.Many companies like google , microsoft,hero , virtusa , and more.Highest package for this year is 62 lakh per annum and average package is 13 lakh per annum.The placement percentage for overall branches is 74%.I will try for a placement in campus placements from my 6th semester.

Campus life: It is very good and homely.

Good coure like CSE with good updated courses.

Dislikes

Less girls sudents . Less girls to boys ratio.
Not good for south students. Cooks according to north students.
No washing machines available for students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I took cse because it is ever green and demanding. Faculty student ratio is very good here. Every teacher here is done with Phd .many in IITs and some in NITs . Their teaching is good. It is very easy to pass exams here. We can Stuy a night before the exam and get descent score.
