Remarks

The college management is good. All it needs is to filter a bit of student as the strength of students is too much high in BTech and the management lags a little bit when it comes to handling all the mass together.

Entrance Preview

I had heard from my friends and also from the people who live at Chandigarh and who are already studying at the university about the great environment and opportunities for the BTech CSE students as a lot of companies come here to give the students a much greater experience through various events and also interns.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is very well framed for the BTech/BE students. Being a CSE student I found my syllabus and course pretty well framed and systematic as compared to other colleges. From basics to pro-level you will get an idea of all kind of knowledge. The subjects are pretty well decided and organized as per the semesters.

Internships Opportunities

The college doesn't provide internship but it brings companies and encourage students always for joining events and doing internships and also provide Duty leave when you will be on internship.

Placement Experience

4.5

Have to say that the placement drives for Computer Science students and some other core branches of engineering is just awesome over here. Lots of companies come here and no one is left without any job opportunity. The companies pay very good salary options and good packages. The highest package this year went to 31 lacs per annum.

College Events

4

Chandigarh University is a great place and a good platform for all those talented students to show their talents and strengths. Every week there is an event in almost all the blocks and institutions and students take part in other competitions that are held in other institutions too.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible as 70% of the students over here have scholarships for tuitions fees and moreover, the fees as per the infrastructure and facility are acceptable. Middle-class families can afford easily for this institutions. The college provides 50% discount in tuition fees for the students who had got 90% or above marks in their +2 exams or 100% discount for the students who performed well in the JEE mains and had got below 50k rank.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides 50% discount in tuition fees for the students who had got 90% or above marks in their +2 exams or 100% discount for the students who performed well in the JEE mains and had got below 50k rank.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life is very good and enthusiastic. There are grounds to play. Sports club, music club, photography club, dance club, the gym is also there. The labs are good with almost all the latest instruments. The gender ratio is 40:60 (male:female). Students from all over India come here.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facilities are good and mess food could be quite disappointing for some students. Especially student from south India or eastern India faces more problems as they don't like the food that much. Though the food is hygienic and fresh and the hostel is also good with WiFi facility and 24 hrs electricity.

Alumni/Alumna

Senior students are mere much helpful and supportive. Also in every block, there is a student council to help the students if they face any problem.

Exam Structure

In a semester there are 3 main exams. One is the final exam that is conducted at the end of each semester. The other two are the Mid Semester Terms(MST) that are conducted twice in between the semester. Practical exams are also conducted thrice same as per the theory exams.

Admission

I got the admission in the college with help of a family friend. But firstly I had to register myself on their official website for the admission. Then they help you and guide you how to proceed further. After registering they will ask you to register for complete admission process by generating a Brochure of their admission process by saying Rs.1000 and then if you want to confirm your seat or to prevent delays during admission or just for some assurity you can book a seat of yourself by paying Rs.10,000 which will be a part of the tuition fees only . However, even if you haven't booked your seat you will be able to get admission but then you have to do all things physically there but if you book the seat online all the processes would be done online and 75% admission is complete. In case you don't want to take admission in the college then they will return all the amount that has been deducted for the seat confirmation.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty is good and helpful. They are very friendly and always ready to help the youngsters and always try to boost up their motivation and come up with good spirit. Never ever happened that there is any kind of shortage of faculty over here. And they always try to clear your doubts without any hesitation.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
