Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The curriculum actually doesn't make me chose this course. I was a bs. Botany student... The institution didnt include department of botany for the nature tour????.The curriculum doesnt prepare us for any real life applicationd.. Its just for the marks... Our botany lab actually should teach us more things in the lab but they are only providing the information for marks... The lab knowledge is a great knowledge when we go for higher studies.. We lack it.

Fees and Financial Aid

Even though you enter this college through merit, you have to pay 10,000 to 15,000 as pta fund... The tution fee is 3600 per sem for general.. The other thing is.. We are unaware of the scholarships and privileges for students including in sc/st, obc, category... Gov. Is providing some amount to the above mentioned students but they will get the money only if the college office staff aprove it... They dont approve it intensionally and charge fees extra for those mentioned students...we we question it.. They say some silly reasons. There is no much campus placement in this colleges.. Initiative are being made.. Some calls are coming but.. Only some of the students are getting placed.

Campus Life

2.5

Freshers, onam celebrations, christmas celebs, arts fests, college days, ethnic days, sports, kalotsav, cleaning days etc are happening every year.. The range of books and journels were very poor. No updates of newly arriving novels or story book or even science related books.... There are only very old, teared book in that library. Our college is famous for sports talent. You get more exposure in that field i think...extra curricular activities are also encouraged throuh an extend... Classrooms are provided with all the teaching equipments and technologies.. There's no doubt. But the college union is not much strong to make changes according to the needs of the students... Ehat the principal drcides is the final decision.

Admission

The admission process was not that much of a hustle. It was easy.. It doesnt was any entrance exams.. They take students through merit list and management quota. As no. Of students in india is decreasing there is no much cut off.as they need more students. You can apply for management quota through the college website www.alphonsacollege others admit through allotement process of mg university. As i said reservation benefits are there.. But the office staffs are nit allowing to grant it. Exams are all good.. There's nithingto say because question papers re issued by the MG University.

Faculty

2

Even though the no. Of students is less compared to the previous years.. Teachers wont actually care each and every one of the students.. Some of the teachers are prejudice and behave bad to the students... Some teachers only consder christian students.. There is partiality happening with religion in some departments. Some teachers are very effective in teaching... Students love their classes.. But certain teachrrs including the HOD are not even interested to take class.. They dont even feel the want to teach the students.. They only come for the salary. Teachers are interactive.. Majority are very approachable.. Some some are always busy

My course is bsc psychology.. self finance.. Our teachers take good lectures, but sometimes they kinda get lag or be behind their portions and curriculum. Our hod on the other side, no proper lectures, teaching methods and unnecessary examples that aren't even related to our topic.exams are just fine.. not thr good just fine.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am a chemistry lover. I want to become a chemist. That why I am passionately choose this course. Sree Narayana College, Cherthala was my first option. Their previous year pass percentage is the main attraction to me. There are 38 students in my class. And overall 100-110 students in my department. In our college, other 4 department has Chemistry as complementary course. There are 6 teachers in my department. 4 of them had PhD. One s registered for PhD. They are very brilliant and friendly teachers. The help us verymuch to improve our knowledge and cracking competitive examinations. They taught very well. Laboratory experience is the main attraction of SN college. They provide beautiful lab section. After I passed out, college offered a post graduation. All the 6 semester exams was undertaken by University if Kerala in regular intervals. EXAMINATIONS and Result publications are very well maintained by The University. We are really comfortable.

Remarks:

College lacks infrastructure and ample space for the ease of college excitement but the college offers a great field of laboratories and on-site experience in the field the faculty and lectures sometimes involve too much into their personal life than minding their own business.
