Likes
- The syllabus is quite advanced. The components they give as a part of internals will really help
- The college provide relatively good placements with a decent package and will also provide training to students to excel in campus recruitments.
- Programmes like the intercollegiate, inter year competitions, DJ nights, valedictory function etc are really fun.really fun.
Dislikes
- Eventhough the campus is full of trees and all it is very small compared to other colleges in chennai. There is no auditorium that can accomodate the entire students. It is really inconvenient sometimes.
- The college life actually depends on the department we are in. The faculty doesnt have a personal connection with the students in my department.
- The college is very strict with its age old rules and regulations especially dress code. Even though the college is girls only the students are only allowed to wear kurtis.
Course Curriculum Overview
The syllabus is quite advanced and they will update it once in 3 year. We will study the various branches of economics like micro, macro,environmental, behavioral, developmental, monetary, public finance, public policy etc. Also we dealt with practical paper such as data analysis, r programming etc which will help us in economic analysis.
Placement Experience
The placement are quite good. But the students of commerce department have mire advantage. Only final year students can sit for placements. The companies such as deloitte, KPMG, Accenture, ICICI bank will come. They will also offer a fair package.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure for our college for aided streem is relatively affordable compared to self financed stream. I have paid varying amount each semester. For every odd semester the fee was about ?12000 to ?14000 and for even semester it was about ?5000. And an additional exam fee is there of about ?2000 before semester exams.
Campus Life
Througout the academuc year there will be many programmes, events, fests etc. There will be a freshers talent day, inter years competitions , inter department competitions, the department fests, and the biggest event is inter collegiate fest. There will also be DJ nights organised by the union. Students can also take part in any club activities of their interest.
Admission
The admission for BA was purely based on marks secured in plus two . The admission process is strictly online and the application fee is about 250 rs. The cut off was about 97%. There is no entrance test. But for MA there will be an entrance test as well as a personal interview. Once you are provisionally selected on the basis of marks we need to appear for certificate verification along with our parents. Once it is done abd if you pay the 1st sem fees the enrollment is complete
Faculty
Most of the faculties are highly qualified. They know the subject very well. The components they give as part of internals will help us to improve our skills and knowledge above the syllabus we are learning. But some of them are really challenging for some students and the faculty may not consider them while giving it. Only very few faculties are approachable. We are privided with mentors and we can talk to them if needed.
