Likes

There is a good library in this college. Lots of reference books and texts are available here. They also provide digital library
This college has a calm and quiet campus
They provide quality education and placement.

Dislikes

Lab facilities are not better for an engineering student. Most of equipments are complaint
Canteen is too small. It is not enough for the students.
Campus is good but it is too small. Auditorium is not enough for events

Course Curriculum Overview

Curriculum is just good for the students. Because it didn't help students in their professional life. Curriculum need changes with the outer world. new technologies and methods not in this curriculum. University didn't provide enough time to go through the entire curriculum.

Class Size: 70Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Placement Experience

7th semester students are eligible for campus placement. Only the final year students can attend interviews. Air india, BPL, Cyrix, Infosys, etc are the main companies which contect interviews. 70% students get placement offers from campus placement. I also planned to get a job in this companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

In this college there is 3 type seats are available. And each has different fee structure. Merit seat are majority. The pay 21500 per semester. So 43000 per year. Management seats are other one. They pay 37000 per semester. So 74000 per year. Other one is NRI seat. They pay 2 lakh per year. There is some relaxations in fee for financially poor students and for some caste.

Campus Life

College contect lots of events for students. Excel is the main program in this college. It is technical fest. It is one of the best tech fest in india. College has lots of clubs and NSS. They helps to reduce the stress of students. Library has huge collection of books. They also provide digital library

Hostel Facilities

Hostel facility is different for girls and boys. Men's hostel is in the campus. Ladies hostel is in 5 minutes walking distance. Ladies hostel is not worth for that rent. I rented pg near to the college. It is 3 minutes walking distance from the campus. They provide homely atmosphere and food.

Hostel Fee: INR 62000 per year

Admission

Students need to qualify for the KEEM examination to get addmission. Some castes and religions get reservations in examination and admission. After completing secondary education students can apply for this entrance examination.

Faculty

Faculties are well qualified. They provide quality education and training for students. They keeps a friendly relationship to the students. Some of them provide notes. Internal examination are done in correct time

Good life memory

Likes

College ambience was too attractive. Friendly atmosphere ആൻഡ് very nice hidden spots and food spots inside the college
The faculty was too supportive and encouragive nature that was also in studies and extra curricular activities also that be very kind of them
There is not only aim to study but also encourage the extra activities. The management was also very supportive to students and also the faculties.

Dislikes

There is very strict to attendence. There was not to bunk the class every hour there will take the attendence and there will be absent they autimaticaly send sms to registerd phone
There is too many exams and assignments that will be little bit problem for students
Canteen facilities little bit bad in my college life time. There was not that much food veriety

Placement Experience:

From 6 th semester onwards campus placement taken. There was coming in bcs, infopark, wipro, etc. Companies are mainly appeared and also many other companies came select many students. The main companies take students in cutoff 8.5or9 cgpa. And some other compnies take students they have backpapers.

The overall environment here is great. Students coming from different backgrounds make us more capable of meeting new people who have different ideas and that makes things easier,apart from achieving technical greatness ,curtain clubs are here
These clubs gives opportunities to gain new skills and to showcase our existing skills, sports clubs are also present which will help improve skills in sports
Cultural clubs , technical clubs are also present here to aid in your interest

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

Likes

college provides nice venue good study environment
provide library facilities and lab facilities

It is so far from the main road a lot to walk

Students can get internships from First sem. Students become eligible from 7th sem for campus placement . The average package begins from 15000/- to most highest package of 25000/-. The percentage of students getting paced is 20-30%.I have been planiing to go to higher studies.

Campus, comparing from nearby college this college had good visual beauty may be because of the college been part 2-3 movies. Visually the college are too good with nature

Dislikes

The Placement is weak as there is no opportunity to get a proper core based job from what you studied mainly job opportunities come from call centres which doesnt require Btech to study. This personally felt too sad to be here to get placed in core.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of the college comes under Ktu syllabus it has already has demerits of the university. Curriculum basically doesnot provide a realworld application uses. Just creates a knowledge on the course (and thats doubt) We need to courses outside the college to get the core jobs outside

The college provides a good atmosphere to truly get a job in the competetive world if we are willing to work for it.
They heavily monitor attendance to make sure that you take your classes so that you perform well in your exams
The facilities provided by the college are good as there are several labs and workshops for hands-on experience

Dislikes

The campus life can get boring and it feels like we are in a rat race.
Some teachers can be a bit apathetic towards the students.
The number events that encourage social interactions in not many

The students are elegible for campus placements from the 7th semester and almost all students get placements provided they don't have any subject yet to clear at the time of placement. There are several companies that visit the college for recruiting including but not limited to TCS, CTS,etc,.

The campus is a package pf greenery and the culteral events conducted there are good at the end
The faculties are good and maintain a decent teaching style
The sports activities are well maintained here

Dislikes

The hostel mess and the food is a bit not good from my opinion
The hostel doesn't have adequate wifi to accommodate the entire strength of students residing there

Yes the college is providing placement facilities and the College has its own placement and industrial relations wing that is said to study about the current industrial requirements and provide the adequate amount of training for the students

MEC EEE REVIEW

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). The college that i applied other than model engineering college is CET trivandrum which is the best college under ktu in kerala . And the second is model engineering college. I would have got admission is any other colleges in kerala . I choose model engineering college because of its placements and academic progress. MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More
