Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Curriculum of this course is approved by DCI (Dental Council of India). Basically there are 3 exams in first year and 4 subjects mainly like Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, DADH. The mbbs subjects are also included so that we can also learn about different aspects of the body along with dental (oral) part. We also study 2nd and 3rd year subjects in advance. We also have good opportunities in future after studying all these subjects. overall the curriculum is tempting.

Internships Opportunities

3

As I am in first year only, I didn't know the reality of internships but i have asked the seniors and the internships are provided to them but the amount is very less. Some seniors also do unpaid internships. So it all depends upon your calliber. The amount of internship is around 3000 per month only.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of this college is quite high but according to facilities given, it is quite reasonable. We pay around 3 lakhs fees for first year and as it a deemed university, so we have to give 2 lakhs for the AIQ Counselling but these money will be refunded back to your account, once the admission process is over. There is no state quota, all seats are of management in this college. And there is no scholarship or relaxation in fees offered for SC/ST candidates or candidates scoring good in exam. Loans can be taken from bank for this college.

Campus Life

4

The festival celebrations and functions of this college are the best and it keeps your mind fresh apart from the hectic schedule of studying. The fresher's party of this college is so memorable and I still watch those videos of the party, it's very good. Sports activities like cricket, football, table tennis, etc are also conducted and interested students can give their names. Various social activities related to dentistry are also conducted like free treatment for patients. Various quizzes are also conducted.

Admission

I chose this college because it is near from my home and the ranking of this college is also good. It is the no. 1 deemed university in North India. I haven't applied for any other college. But I have seen many colleges in this category and visited also and I found the infrastructure and facilities of this college better than other in this range. Admission in this college is based on the qualification of an entrance exam called NEET, so there is no such high cutoff of this college as it is private institution.

Faculty

4.5

The Faculty of the college is really good. All teachers have done MDS and is well educated. The faculty to student ratio is good and they also guide us about future opportunities in this beautiful field. One can ask any doubt to teachers related to study or any other life related problems. As I am in first year, the faculty of anatomy, biochemistry and DADH is quite good. They also teach 2nd year subjects in first year, so that the pressure will be reduced of second year. Exams are conducted time to time but final exams are mainly important. Difficulty level of exams are moderate, one can easily pass if studied well. Minimum 50 percent marks required to pass the exam.

Other Applied Colleges

Gian Sagar Dental College & Hospital | Bachelor of Dental Surgery [BDS]

I didn't like the infrastructure of the college.

It is a little easier than mbbs. You get to have a doctor tittle in front of your name. Regular attendance makes you more disciplined and a good dentist. It is fun to carve teeth and to do prosthodontics experiments are also fun

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason I choose bds was more practical learning and more over my interest in this. The teachers teaches us according the curriculum helping us in exams. The frequency of exam is around six months or annually. It depends on the college management system, and how they set the exam and when.

Placement Experience:

I am a BDS student so for us right after finishing our BDS we are eligible to practice ourselves. Now it is on you whether to go for MDS or not, or whether to move abroad for your practice, we have our internships in the 5th year where we are taught how to deal with patients in real life so our journey starts right from our internships, a lot of fresh Doctors who have passed out from this college are doing great in life. I have a clear set of thoughts in chronological sequence as to this would be my way forward which includes doing MDS and going for opening my own clinic after which I shall move abroad for my practice.

According to me, everything depends on your perspective. The teachers would always work for the good of the students. Now it's on the student's mindset according to which the tasks could be taken as positive or negative.

College is good but only one demerit we have is a slight lack of patients. We don't have that much mob of patients but still get ample patients to get our practice quota done in every department.
