Remarks

The college should focus more on practical knowledge through lab work at least in the Biotechnology department as it is a growing field and students need to keep up if they are going to be successful bio-technologists in the future.

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Course Curriculum is mostly theoretical. Although the course work is set in a way that students can keep up with the fast-paced world of biotechnology, more focus on practical work could make it much better. Internal exams are held frequently to prepare students well enough for the university exams. There are eight-semester exams held in 4 years on the university level.

Placement Experience

4

The placement cell works really hard to provide the students with the best possible opportunities. Several students have been placed in highly reputable companies straight out of college with good packages. I availed an internship from Patanjali Food and Herbal Park by applying directly to their Internship programme.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure involves tuition fee, University exam fee, Library Fee, Dress Material Charges, College Placement Activity Fee, Alumni & Convocation Fee, Internet Fee, Development Charges, Extra Curricular & Co-curricular Activity Fee, Insurance and Security. The total fee for the four-year course is around 527026 INR. The total first-year fee is 140669 INR which includes all the expenses mentioned.

Fees and Financial Aid

Although there are a number of scholarships available, I did not opt for any. Neither did I take any education loan.

Campus Life

3

The campus life is calm and enjoyable with a lot of security around the clock. The gender ratio in the biotechnology department is a little skewed as 80% of it is comprised of females, although in the other departments it is much more balanced. Students from all around India take admission in I.M.S Engineering college so it is quite diverse.

Alumni/Alumna

There is an annual alumnus meet held in the college itself through which you can connect with everyone. The students create a lifelong bond and are always there to help each other out.

Admission

Got the admission in I.M.S Engineering College through management quota. The college held its own exam in the month of May after the results of UPSEE were announced. The exam was highly influenced by UPSEE exams and followed a similar pattern and syllabus. The results were declared a day later and the admissions were done according to the benchmark set by the college for admissions under the management quota.

Faculty

3.5

Most of the faculty members are highly educated and more than capable of teaching the course work. They not only hold theoretical knowledge but are excellent in practical work as well. They are helpful and look out for the students even after they have left college.

Placement Experience:

This year the placement ratio was significantly low and only few mass hiring companies came to the college. The companies were either startups and have no significant market presence or they were recruiting selective students. The main goal is now to avail a offer off-campus or to change the focus to some other competitive exams for higher studies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum for tech branches still need to be improved as many important courses are not taught due to lack of faculties. The college still lacks necessary required labs for many branches which can give students hands on experience and make them industry ready. The exam occours timely as mentioned in academic calendar and are moderately difficult.

After 6 semesters, students became eligible for campus placement. Many companies visited this college for placement drives, like" Tata, Mahindra, hi- tech" and many more. Highest package of this college is 1,800,000 per year. And the average package of this college is 3-4 lakhs per year. 60% of the students get placed every year. My main plan is to get a well-paying job after the completion of degree.
