What Students Say

Likes

Library ,It's cozy enough for everyone to learn in that peaceful environment
Staffs never made us feel women ,they thought us how to face the world
Competitions from other colleges are great

Dislikes

Sometimes exams are rushed so we may feel stress.
Sometimes you will feel it's not a big area

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The curriculum is good. They have appplications in terms of industrial jobs and research studies. But i feel it need some improvement in terms of current need. They exam time is quite enough to complete tha paper so that's not a issue.

Class Size: 41Course Fees: INR 21000 per year

Internships Opportunities

They are internships available for all department. So it's good for us to improve our real life skills in a company associated with our courses. They internship period is of 2 months. Some even joined in the same for jobs.

Placement Experience

4.5

From the final year they are eligible. CTS WIPRO Tech Mahindra Accenture Vitusa TCS etc 2-5 lpa. Most of them are non-arrears and skilled . I wanted to continue my postgraduate so i didn't opt for the placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

I paid fees around 63,000 along with lab fees around 10,000 for 3 yrs and breakage fee is separate. And fees is same for all.And scholarships by trust are available based on caste and orphaned due to corona. And the fees are as per they informed no increase or decrease can be alleged.

Campus Life

They conduct festivals celebration .Library is advanced in terms of availability and source. Smart class and computers are available for students in library. They have special sport quota for women. They made young entrepreneurs. And the club activities are great.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

I personally didnt stay in hostels or room. But heard thar it's quite good in college hostel and women hostel outside near the college. The food is good and they care everyone . They made sure that students have their own freedom.

Hostel Fee: INR 55000 per year

Admission

I have applied Wcc but i got the admission later. And my parents felt i may not able to travel long so they thought it's best to study in a college within a certain distance. The admission process is only based on merit for dayscholars.

Faculty

The staffs are quite great and knowledgeable and they interact with us as friends. They thought out of box like Net,Csir,Upsc exams importance.I love everyone. They are arrears due to health issues and FA.

Other Applied Colleges

Women's Christian College - [WCC] | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] (Chemistry)

I got admission later

Nit Trichy B.Sc. B.ed. student review

Likes

girls to boys ratio is 1:1 is we consider all three branches with some courses with more male while other having for female.more or less the ratio is near 1:1
the most important thing for you is there is close to zero discrimination for you , whether you want to join any club or perform anything you are equivalent to students with others bachelor degree
octagon and library are the two things which are good as library is considered the biggest library among all nit's while octagon having 800 computers for students.NSO ground is also well maintained with the beautiful mig fighter jet to take cool phot

Dislikes

for first years hostel are well maintained if compared with others but don't expect much from hostel atlast this is a government college.in first year 3 to 4 person sharing room are there which was build to carry 2 person.
Quant and entrepreneur thing is not there as you might expect by seeing the nirf 9 ranking but it is not zero .they are growing clubs like profNITT and Sigma are young and they could do better
curfew timing for girls are 9 or 9:30 pm i guess be it any year. for boys ,only freshers have curfew with timing 9:30 pm.other than that any student can't step outside the college after 10 pm without the sign out form.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course as maths is the mother of all science and quite related to other fields so it opens a lot of door for me like mba ,mtech ,phd or any other things. this course is specifically designed for becoming teachers so keep that in mind before taking this course as they are not flexible in changing curriculum or adding something for the sake of students as of now. also you will be having more working days compared to other courses with 80 percent mandatory attendance.after first sem you will get 1 week holiday and after 2nd sem you will get 50.days holiday and after first year you can expect 20 days holiday for winters and 50 days holiday for summers. you will get a lot of time to study for exams. before ct 1 you can expect 2 months and then atleast a month for ct 2 and endsems. cons are that you don't have the right to choose minor or electives like btech students.you have to compulsory study all three science .i.e. maths , physics, chemistry.

The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.
