Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

The Law curriculam is generally designed to balance both theotrical knowledge and practical applications core subjects like Constitutional Law, Criminal law, Contract Law etc are backbone of legal education. Additional courses like MOOT Court competition, Internships offers hand on experience. The curriculam is well structred to prepare students for multiple carrers in law.

Fees and Financial Aid

At VIT college, the fee structure is around 164000 is generally broken down into several components over the duration of the programme. In the 1st year the total fees is amount to approximately 195000. This include tution fee 16400 along with additional charges such as one time admission fee of 10000, a refundable caution deposit of 4000 to 5000 and development and lab fees, which can range from 15000 to 30000. Miscelloneus fees covering library, id card, and sports is around 10000. In the second year the fees are lower, as there are no one time admissions or caution deposits, the yearly cost remain close to 180000 with tution fees costing 164000, additional fees such as development fees and lab fees along with moot court competion will be aroung 20000 and other miscelloneus charges will be around 3000 to 5000. The fees structure does not seem increasingly yearly based on the overview. Scholarships like Merit cum Need ,SC/ST Category and financial aid option may be also available.

Campus Life

3.5

There will be two annual festival that is the Techno and Vibrance which are held in september and february month it is one of the largest cultural festival attracting particpants from all the countries. VIT has an extensive library equipped with a wide raange of books and e journals. The library is extnded till morning 6 to mid night 12. There are smart classrooms and wifi for thr students.

Admission

The other collegs I applied are Christ university, St jospehs, Alliance university and I got admissions from every college excepts Christ university Bangalore but I got into Pune campus and I choosed VIT becauce I am going to settle in Tamil Nadu so learning from VIT will give you a unique experience. I got rejected from Christ because I didnt perform my Personal Interview very well. The admission process from ny college is you have to write the CLAT or LSAT exam and you have ti get shortlist from it and you have to attend a group discusion and you have to shortlist from there and you can get an admisssion from VIT Chennia

Faculty

3

VIT typically maintains a a reasonable faculty to student ratio with 1 faculty member for every 40 to 50 students, the relationship between students and faculty are positive. Most proffesors are are apporachable and andencourage students to reach out during office hours. VIT follows a Choice based Credit system, there will be two mid semester exam that is CAT 1 and CAT 2 which each carries 10 marks and and other than that there will be 4 internals which also carries eavh 10 and for FAT 40 marks totally 100.

Placement Experience:

Placements are very mediocre. Few companies like Zoho, Agarwal, Etc visit for campus interviews but they offer less package. As for my knowledge maybe 2-5% get placed. I plan to practice as an advoca after graduating.

Remarks:

The main feature of the college is the really affordable fees structure which have been designed by keeping in mind the middle class and the lower middle class students of India. Employment opportunities are also provided in bulk. There is no negative aspect about the college whatsoever.

Admission:

The admission in the five year integrated law program in attitude is done based on the score of CLAT exam. The exam is conducted annually for entrance into the top law schools across the country. Through the counselling of CLAT I got a seat granted in this institute. Since I was already late for admission I grabbed the opportunity when I got a seat allotted in this institute.

Remarks:

College timings are strict and the leave policy is very rigid. Attendance is updated every day and atleast 80 percent is to be maintained each semester. Other then that the hostel is worse as they do not send home and only give 2 permissions each semester.
