Course Curriculum Overview
The course I have chosen is CSE with specialization in AI and ML. Usually each subject has 6 modules which teach right from the basics till the advance level. Each course curriculum includes theory and practicals in form of a lab. The curriculum is also updated every semester with respect to ongoing trends in the world.
Internships Opportunities
Internships offers start from the third year onwards . There are a number of companies who offer summer internshipwith stipend ranging from 50k to 1.5L. Companies like d.e shaw, linkedin, microsoft, uber, etc. offer internships.
Placement Experience
Students are elgible for campus placements from the fourth year onwards. Students are trained for these campus placements. Around 70 to 100 companies visit each year for the placements. The highest package is around 40LPA and the average package is around 5L. Around 60% students get placed in the campus placements.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees for a academic year is 3Lakhs. The fees change category wise so for category 1 the fees are around 1.5lakh/yr and they go on increasing till category 5. Category depends on the rank obtained in the viteee exam.
Campus Life
Usually 2 main events happen every year, Vitopia a cultural fest in march and Vtapp a technical fest in november. There are a number of course related reference books available in Library. There are number of sports facilities available on campus that includes badminton court, tennis court, football and cricket ground, basketball as well as indoor games like carrom, squash, TT.
Hostel Facilities
The rooms are divide into ac and non ac starting from 2 bed category till 12 bed dormitories. The mess vendors are different for each hostel but the mess quality is good. Registration of hostels depends on the cgpa scored in college. A rank is generated on it and then the councelling process is done.
Admission
I did apply to other colleges like SRM and MIT and I was also accepted there but VIT was first on my priority list due to many factors. One of the reasons is the discipline and strictness standards of VIT. To take admission in VIT there is a entrance exam called as VITEEE, one needs to get a good rank and based on that you get category and branch.
Faculty
Number of faculties is high and each subject has atleast minimum 5 faculties. Mostly all faculties have doctorate in the subject. Faculties are highly experienced and a lot of them are approachable as well . Faculty to student ratio is good and all the faculties teach very nicely. In a semster(5 months) there are 3 exams, 2 mid-sem exams and 1 Final exam. The exams have a intermediate level of difficulty.
