What Students Say

Likes

The campus is quite good and has a nice environment
Teachers and staffs are also great and helpful in every aspects.
Also the infrastructure are also quite good

Dislikes

In summer times it’s difficult to do classes as there are very few fans in each classroom
Campus is good enough but not that spacious
Canteen foods are bit unhygienic, they could improve in here

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose botany because yeah i do have interest in plant physiology, it's interesting and great. Teachers teaches their portion well and elaborately. Overall good experience. So the timing of each classes is 1hr and whenever there is sessional exam timing 1 hr and for semester exam it's 3 hrs.

Class Size: 500Course Fees: INR 4400 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

i have took admission under fee wavier scheme so i have to pay 4400 for 1 year that is it includes 1st and 2nd semester. So there is no tuition fees and no extra charges were took as it's a government college in Assam.

Campus Life

Our college has fest every year that too a great one. Many events take place like freshers two times one general and one departmental then cultural night, college weeks etc. There are many. Our college also provides ncc for girls .

Admission

To be honest at first i wanted to get admission in Cotton College but unfortunately i couldn't clear the eligibility criterias so far. Like this year the cut off percentage was very high as compared to previous year and since i was a dropper so couldn't get their. But nevertheless got admission in handique college which is a great college specially i took major in botany so it's better in handique than in cotton . No offense i am here and i'm happy about it

Faculty

4.5

The faculty to student ratio is i guess it will be 1:20 not that sure because i took admission this year. I liked the teachers of my microbiology department, all three of them are great and friendly. And hod maam is also really good .Her name is Madhurima maam????, she's like a mother tbh. There are not any faculties i didn't like all are good. There are total 4 exams in 1st year .

Other Applied Colleges

Cotton University | Bachelor of Science [B.Sc] {Hons.} (Botany)

at last i thought handique is much better then i took admission there

I like the infrastructure of our college.
Our college have enough rooms and halls to accommodate huge number of students
Digitalisation in teaching methods in all classrooms.

Dislikes

Toilet is still not clean as promised by our GS.
Lack of equipments in practical laboratories.
Cleanliness and hygiene are a bit off track.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course i.e. department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.

All you have to know about Handique Girls' college

I applied to cotton University and also DU.. I didn get in cotton ...but i got in DU with sociology..since i wanted to go for psychology, I didnt go to DU. I didn't make it to Cotton because of cut off marks. Getting into psychology is really tough especially in this generation where people are more aware about mental health. The cut off was really high 96 % in cotton and Idk about DU it varies from clg to clg. The admission process in Handique girls' college is okayish. Runs smoothly. You just need to have necessary documents and also can ask the staff for any queries or doubts. For Handique the cut off is average. If you score above 90% you'll definitely get admission in psychology. Bu then again the cut off varies every year. This year political science cut off was very high in every college. So even with 80% getting into Pol sc in Handique was not possible....Read More
