Course Curriculum Overview

5

The curriculum include vast variety of subjects and technical skills which helps student to become multitasking and built their intellectual powers. The university provides General Proficiancy cources that include various extra curricular subjects like sports, music and many other technical and non technical courses for an overall growth.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

CU provides various internship opportunities to the students. For that the University is having a proper department known as Department of Carrer Planning and Development that helps students to develop there skills which are in demand in the industries for various job roles as well as for internship roles. University is having various links with many other Governmental as well as private institutes which provide various internship opportunities to the students.

Placement Experience

4.5

Chandigarh University is known for its placement drives. The university provide a huge number of company placement opportunities to its students. More than 900+ companies visits the campus every year whhich is a hge number. The highest package was about 54 LPA offered by Microscoft and the average package ranges between 5-10 LPA which depends on the caliber of candidates. The companies that visitedChandigarh university are Biocon, Panacea Biotec, Cipla, Dr. Reddy's for the biotechnology placement drives and many more.

Fees and Financial Aid

Currently I am persuing BE Biotechnology degree from Chandigarh University under the department of Biotechnology Engineering and Food Technology and I am now in y 3rd year of Bachelors degree. The course fees at the time of admission in back 2022 for me was around 88500 Indian Rupees per semester which i am currently also paying and the university provides you a huge percentage of scholarship based on your CUCET s ore which is an entrance exam of Chandigarh University. I am eligible for a 30 % of scholarship based on my score of CUCET but to maintain this scholarship throughout your graduation degree you have to cross the bar of 7.5 CGPA every year otherwise the scholarship will be removed. The examination fees for each semester is around 2500 Indian Rupees and there is no developmental fees, its same for your entiire Bachelors degree. The fees every year for the freshers increases by a small rate for the 1st year students because of new facilitiies that the university provides.

Campus Life

5

The chandigarh University is a home for more than 30000+ students which came from almost all states of India as well as from foreign countries with various cultural and traditional beliefs. Here CU provide a proper environment to all the students to perform there cultural customes under various clubs which falls under the Department of Arts and Cultural Affairs. There are various other sports clubs, fine arts club, dance, music as well as singing clubs which are very easy to join and become a member of that club. CU also provode freedom to build your own club with a group of students to represent yourself.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

Hostel facilities are good. They provide 2 seater, 3 seater, 4 seater and 5 seater rooms. The room contains a separate bed, almira and a study table and chair for each student with a balcony for the room. Each floor contains 4 separate bathroom and drinking water facilities. There are AC and non AC room also that depends on the choice of student. The registration process is quiet simple, the student can eather apply for the hostel from the official website of CU or either can apply through offline mode from admission department. The mess food is good but the quality sometimes degrades. There are no seasonal fruits that the mess serves to the students.

Admission

I completed my 12th standard in Medical +Maths which provides me a chance to apply for a vast range of courses. But I liked biotechnology course very much because of its wide range of utilization and demand in the society. Chandigarh University helps me in this journey of mine to achieve my dream by learning many new things and techniques that help me in fostering my skills and that can help me to hold a good job in society which can help the world in some or another way by my novel ideas. Other than chandigarh university, I tried to opt for the government universities but due to high cut offs and percentages I was unable to crack their seat.

Faculty

5

The faculty at chandigarh university is just at another level in terms of their qualifications, knowledge and skills. Most of the faculties are Phd Holders hich makes them best for the students to taught them with their wider experience and knowledge spectrum. The university also organise various facult skill enhancement programs which is a best program of Chandugarh university. The student to faculty ratio is about 1 faculty per 35 students which is the best thing and the students can also approach for one on one interactions with the concenred faculty for there doubts.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
