Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The Course Curriculum was not updated as they have traditional teaching approaches and was not industry oriented as of modern technology. The Areas that should be improved by the college is that they should adopt modern teaching methods and give real time experience to the students for their good future. The frequency of exam were twice in each semester and level remains moderate.

Placement Experience

1

As we will discuss about placements, I want to clarify that students are allowed to sit in placements in 7 semester. And the placement record of IMS Engineering college was not good in last few years. During my admission , the placements were good and the average package for computer science at that time was 5-6 LPA. But as of 2022 and 2023 batch, the placements were not good and the average package goes down to 4 LPA and the number of companies in 2022-2023 was also reduced. The Tech Companies get reduced and got replaced by non-tech companies like sales company. Some Tech companies like Tech Mahindra, Amazon, deollite and many more were offering Customer Service related jobs to the students and that of 2-2.5 LPA package. The BIG names like Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, Sopra, Tech Mahindra and many more didn't arrived in the campus for the placements for 2024 batch. The highest package offer was of 5 LPA and only 20-25% of students were placed from campus .

Fees and Financial Aid

Firstly, for the 1st year in B.tech for Computer Science Branch , I have paid approx 132000 and for the 2nd and 3rd year it was less, approx 128000-130000. And in the final year it was 125000 for the Academic Fees and for the hostel i have paid 95000 and 5000 as secuirity money and the hostel fees increases with amount of 5000 per year. In 1st year the registration fees was 1100 in 2020 and increases yearly. There was no special fees for special quota students like SC,ST but yes they have some fee waiver seats vacant for some studnets. There was no Scholarship provided by the college or by the university for any student.

Campus Life

2

The annual Tech event was not celebrated in the college during my whole college journey, Only fest is celebrated once a year which is called VIBGYOR and that too was short as of only 1-2 days only with many restrictions like the time for celebration was only 7-9.30pm only. There is also Diwali celebration named DJ Night, in which only hostlers were allowed and too moderate. There were 3-4 social groups but that not too much active during college days.

Hostel Facilities

4

The hostel facilites were good as there is 24*7 facilties available like electricity, drinking water , wifi, cleaning staff. The hostel fees was approx 100000 per year. Hostel facilites includes laundry and mess food too. The mess food quality was much better than other college mess nearby. The registration process is very easy and simple as we have to register there on their hostel portal in just 3-4 easy steps. I have no information regarding PG in that locality.

Admission

I have applied for ABES College too but couldnot get a seat there. I have gave UPTU examination through which I got an opportunity in Two colleges ABES and IMSEC. But ABES is offering me Electrical branch as they have remaining seats in that branch only , and my dream is to get an admission into Computer Science branch, That's why I opted for IMS Engineering College.

Faculty

3

The faculty-to-student ratio was good in the college as for every 50-60 students they have 1 faculty. The faculty to student relationship was good as they were not aggresive or very strict in nature. One of the good faculty in the college was Dr. Sonia Juneja, she was also the HoD of the Computer Science Department and was very good faculty too. She was very kind in nature and very supportive. The college conducts 2 sessionals tests in every semester and marking scheme in the sessionals was normal. The level of difficulty was moderate and almost 8/10 get passed in these sessionals.

Other Applied Colleges

ABES Engineering College | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Computer Science and Engineering)

I didn't opted this college as they don't have vacant seats for computer science branch

Placement Experience:

Placements are both on and off-campus based. Placements are usually common for both IT and Non-IT students, Technical or Non-Technical. Students become eligible, in their final years to pursue internships or acquire placements. Usually students from Computer Science and Engineering avail more placement opportunities. The Medical Department have more options of Employability. Companies like HCL, Byju's, Extramarks, IBM and other local companies like Stambh Power Systems, Pieinfocomm and others have arrived. But the placement ratio needs to be increased. Off-Campus Placements are more successful. Highest Package can be 8lpa CTC to average package be 2.5lpa CTC, with profiles of assistance and associates. Atleast 30% students get placed on average. My plans are based on Learning in different ways.
