What Students Say

Likes

Computer Science dept is one of the best department in the campus. All the facilities are well trained and experienced as well as they are all friendly
The college has 2 shifts to provide education for more students shift 1 timing 9.00 AM to 1.45 PM and 2nd shift timing 2.00PM to 6.00PM
Overall the college is in a average state

Dislikes

Canteens should be improved .The items are less
Restroom should be improved.it looks worst
College functions are conducted rarely so the college is only good for studies

Course Curriculum Overview

3.5

Cs course is one of the best in this clg.In this course you will learn c, c++ ,java ,python html, css ,js,cs. architecture, software engineering and etc.You will know all the basic things in this course but this alone will not help you to get a job ,you need to learn more advanced concepts

Class Size: 40Course Fees: INR 1000 per year

Placement Experience

From semester 5 the students will be eligible for the placements .there is no particular placement classes for the students.Students have to separately prepare for it by their own.By naan mudhalvan scheme many companies have visited our college but most of them are the start up companies and average package will be 2 LPA And 3LPA will be the highest package. Many students got placed from many departments like40%.

Fees and Financial Aid

When you are selected from the counselling the admission fees will be 1500 and then for the 1st year (1 and 2 sem) it will be a fee of 2000 (1000 per sem)that will be paid as a exam fee.For the 2 nd year (3 and 4 sem) it will again a fee of 2000(1000 per sem) that will be paid as a exam fee.And for the final year at 5th sem the fee will be 1000 amd for the 6 th sem the fee will be 3000 as there will be a project viva.Dont worry for every students there is a scholarship sc/st you will receive 5000 per year and other students will get 3000 per year

Campus Life

This college is one of the oldest college in Coimbatore.there will be no annual day or a college level festivals but each department can conduct culturals once in a year and also freshers day ,Pongal festival are conducted dept wise.the class room is an ordinary class there will be no smartclasses NCC is one of the famous extra curricular activity in our college and also our college provides huge support for the sports

Admission

I applied to many top colleges like psg,grd and i also got selected but other colleges for choosing the CS course they ask donation. If you want to get a degree with low fee cost then government college is the best option you can get a degree by spending just 10000 (including sem and other fees)for the overall course.Other colleges fees are high so i didnt like to join there.Admission process is a worst experience when i went to 1st counselling it started at 9.00AM and all the process ended at 7.00 PM

Faculty

3.5

In CS department there will be 8+ faculty members including training staffs. All the staffs are friendly when we obey their words.we write 2 exams per sem that is internal exam and a semester .Mostly all the students can pass the semester exams when they are regular to class

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.
