Small campus : so campus life is less , but according to some it's good
Infrastructure: college building is very old
Less courses ,but new courses are introduced and classes are less

Course Curriculum Overview

Electronics is a good intresting branch for those who don't opt for coding. But the curriculum is not up-to-dated . So there are some disadvantage about it . Teaching method s can be more prectical for better understanding.The curriculum can include newgen more practical syllabus. Only 2 internal exams in a semester. They can conduct more exams for enough internal marks. It's level is easier

Year wise college fees- 75,000 rs for management seat So for completing the course - around 4 lakhs including project expenses For merit seat it it 40,000 per year sc/st-no fees There is no extra fees for lab and exam fee There are many scholarships , if it is valid they can avail it

Campus Life

There are many events initiated in a semester. Arts , Sports, Excel - technical fest. There is a big library but books are not updated. Classrooms are old ones. But there is projector with which lectures explain. Here the no. Of clubs are more than any thing . Noone knows the no. Of clubs working here. Main ones are nss, training cell , IEEE, and many more . They help improve their stage fear and management skills

I got 1 St allotment in Rajagiri Engineering College. But my option for mec was higher. I chose this because it's a government college ; better compared to private and fees was less compared. This has better placements as compared to other colleges. I entered here through keam . Here people come through NRI admission. At 2022 the cutoff was 10000 in management seat for OBC quota

Faculties are keeping a good relationship with students. They all are very supportive and helpful with many works . they are approachable at any time . They are not like teachers we had in our school There are many I personally like a family member. Exams are easier for a student completed 12 th grade . But it's a college and there are many other than learning from a particular book. Some Students can followup but some cannot. curriculum is not good for a company to select a person

Likes

The overall environment here is great. Students coming from different backgrounds make us more capable of meeting new people who have different ideas and that makes things easier,apart from achieving technical greatness ,curtain clubs are here
These clubs gives opportunities to gain new skills and to showcase our existing skills, sports clubs are also present which will help improve skills in sports
Cultural clubs , technical clubs are also present here to aid in your interest

Placement Experience:

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.

Likes

college provides nice venue good study environment
provide library facilities and lab facilities
provide internet facilities like wifi and average classrooms

Dislikes

It is so far from the main road a lot to walk

Placement Experience:

Students can get internships from First sem. Students become eligible from 7th sem for campus placement . The average package begins from 15000/- to most highest package of 25000/-. The percentage of students getting paced is 20-30%.I have been planiing to go to higher studies.

Average but not worst

Campus, comparing from nearby college this college had good visual beauty may be because of the college been part 2-3 movies. Visually the college are too good with nature

Dislikes

The Placement is weak as there is no opportunity to get a proper core based job from what you studied mainly job opportunities come from call centres which doesnt require Btech to study. This personally felt too sad to be here to get placed in core.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As of the college comes under Ktu syllabus it has already has demerits of the university. Curriculum basically doesnot provide a realworld application uses. Just creates a knowledge on the course (and thats doubt) We need to courses outside the college to get the core jobs outside

Likes

The college provides a good atmosphere to truly get a job in the competetive world if we are willing to work for it.
They heavily monitor attendance to make sure that you take your classes so that you perform well in your exams
The facilities provided by the college are good as there are several labs and workshops for hands-on experience

Dislikes

The campus life can get boring and it feels like we are in a rat race.
Some teachers can be a bit apathetic towards the students.
The number events that encourage social interactions in not many

Placement Experience:

The students are elegible for campus placements from the 7th semester and almost all students get placements provided they don't have any subject yet to clear at the time of placement. There are several companies that visit the college for recruiting including but not limited to TCS, CTS,etc,.

Its okay if you're ready to work

The campus is a package pf greenery and the culteral events conducted there are good at the end
The faculties are good and maintain a decent teaching style
The sports activities are well maintained here

Dislikes

The hostel mess and the food is a bit not good from my opinion
The hostel doesn't have adequate wifi to accommodate the entire strength of students residing there

Yes the college is providing placement facilities and the College has its own placement and industrial relations wing that is said to study about the current industrial requirements and provide the adequate amount of training for the students

the college provide many placement oppurtunities. many students are placed in good packages.the college have good infrastructure.
the college have a large campus(about 60 acre). that includes 4 hostels(3 men's hostel and a girls hostel).
the college provide many oppurtunities for extra curriccular activities . personally i joined in hand ball camp.

Dislikes

during summer days there is so hot in college. lack of smart classrooms and projectors in some classes. the college have no accredictions
programs are very less in this college. some faculties are not taking classes properly. feels so boring in this college .
the food in the canteen is not good. some buildings in this college is very old so there is no modern facilities.

Placement Experience:

the college provides many placement oppurtunities and intership oppurtunities. the students are placed in companies like cognizant, tcs, infosys,wipro. a very low percentage students are placed from each class (about 10 per class).

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is excellent because it contains so many informative ideas and the practical lab is the best. I chose this course to get an idea about the civil engineering field and i m satisfied with it. The faculty members are very supportive and helpful. The student ratio is very low. Faculties at our college are MTech holders and PHD also. There will be two series exams and one university exam in each semester and there are eight semesters in Btech.

These companies provide placement for all the branches of the college. 90 percent of the students get placements. I prefer to go for higher studies after getting the degree.

MEC EEE REVIEW

I applied to cet, tkm, gec for branches eee and ec My first option was cet for which i couldn't get admission due to my rank. Cet requires rank below 1000. And my second option was mec (my college). GOVT MODEL ENGINEERING COLLEGE REVIEW

The college that i applied other than model engineering college is CET trivandrum which is the best college under ktu in kerala . And the second is model engineering college. I would have got admission is any other colleges in kerala . I choose model engineering college because of its placements and academic progress. MEC Thrikkakkara: Strong Academics and Placements, but Room for Infrastructure Growth

My cousin studied here few years back and is now working a top tech company.I applied for Cs in MSRIT and AMRITA,but the fee structure over there is too high(around 3-4 lakh per year).Here overall fee amount is equivalent the yearly fee.To get admission in MEC,a person needs to write keam exam .Three phases of allotment are held in here.At the beginning of all allotment,we could change our preferences.For CSE BATCH,CUTOFF RANK FOR merit is around 2k and Management around 3.5k .For CSBS it's around 3k for Merit and 7-8k for management....Read More

Good for social life but very minimal infrastructure and facilities

The reason I chose this college over other options were due to the prime location in which it is present and due to the city it is present in . MEC is renowned for the placement opportunities available in this college and is placed in the top 3 colleges in Kerala in terms of placemenets . The admission is based on the student's KEAM rank and this rank decides whether you get the Merit seat or management seat . For others you also have an NRI seat .
