Remarks

Overall, In my experience, I'm having good times in NIT Silchar. The whole environment around the college is very good and peaceful. The people around are very caring and they are from all over India. We get to experience many cultures.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Course curriculum is a well balanced, and the syllabus is incorporated in such a way that the course emphasises on dealing with real time projects issues. Coming to the exam structure, there will be one mid semester and end semester examination.

Placement Experience

4.5

Our college has good placements. My seniors got placed in companies like michelline and L&T with 6lakh to 10lakh packages. B.tech students almost has a 100% placement. Even PSU's come to the college for recruiting people, which doesn't happen in private colleges. Students are allowed to apply for internship in companies. Students who do Mtech get a stipend of 12.4k.

College Events

5

We celebrate most of the festivals like chirstmas, Bihu, Sankranti, Vinayaka chaturthi, etc. Apart from that we have two main and big events that take place. One is technoesis- this is a technical fest and other is incandescence, which is a 4day cultural fest. Both are student organized. In technoesis people give paper presentations and ppt and similar events. In incandescence stage shows are arranged and many people all across the world are invited to perform.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For a semester the fee for course work is around 25,000 to 32,000. The fees structure is feasible. The course includes all the building and academic funds. If a person opts for hostel, the hostel fee is around 40,000

Fees and Financial Aid

For the bachelor course they can easily avail education loan from state bank of India, and for the people who are doing their masters in the college, they get stipends, but even if they want for loan, they can also approach bank, for that purpose. The purpose is hassle less and is generally be done in a week or so.

Campus Life

4

The laboratories are very good, and we'll maintained. We get to work on equipments which are very costly and can't be obtained else where, except in company floor. We have clubs like mountaineering, skating, dancing , karate, music, tennis, cricket, many more, so if a student wants to do anything, he can just enroll in any of the club for free. The equipment also will be provided by the club for the respective activity. We have good sports facilities, their is a well equipped gym , volleyball courts and badminton courts.

Hostel Facilities

5

Yes, I currently am staying in hostel provided by the college, which is around the college premises.Yhe infrastructure and neatness of the hostels are good. Washrooms are well maintained and neatness is kept. We get 24hrs power without any outage. Actually the big thing is The whole hostel is electrified using solar energy. That means it's eco friendly too!!

Alumni/Alumna

Students don't have a direct contact with older alumni but the students have good connection with their seniors and super seniors. The older alumni may not have a good connection with the students themselves but I've seen older alumni helping college to get placement drive from particular company.

Admission

There is this all India examination called as GATE, you should take that exam and get qualified in that to be eligible to apply for the NIT's all over India. After getting the GATE score there is a procedure called CCMT, in which you can opt for colleges. Based on your score, you'll get a college.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is great. They are very knowledgeable and everyone did their PhD in respective fields. Their teaching style is in such a way, that it's interesting to listen to their lectures. They also give good guidance to the student and even help students to improve.

All are mostly pros. But there are some cons too. Cons- Good restaurants who serve great food are not present. Sometimes life is very fast paced with a lot of pressure due to which we cannot enjoy life(only sometimes) Stationaries are quite costly such as xerox, etc Mess food is not upto the mark but they try very hard to uplift themselves.
