Likes

The infrastructure of our college if good. We have a big ground for sports. Infact our college have so many sports like cricket, football, volleyball, kabbadi, kho kho and many others. Our college have a auditorium also. Classrooms are very spacious.
The faculty of our college is very good. Each professor is a pro of his/her subject. They teach us very dedicatedly and calmly, and they are very friendly also.
Our college have so many societies. Students can join societies and learn many new things. And it will help in their personality development also.

Dislikes

The crowd of our college is not so good. Due to quota many idiots have got admission in our college and they just make the environment unhealthy for studies and any other activity.
At the time of elections, all the classes get cancelled and parties do their campaigning only, which affect the studies of students and is not a right thing.

Course Curriculum Overview

As I wanted to pursue CA with a undergraduate course so I chose this course. As in this course, there is not so pressure on students and they can focus on other things also. They can also explore other fields and new things.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 25200 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

As Shyam Lal is an off campus college of Delhi University. So it's fee structure is higher than other DU colleges. Basically I'm a unreserved candidate so my fees is 25200 Rupees yearly but for category students the fee is almost half of mine.

Campus Life

Recently, our college organised a Dandiya Night event which was quite fun. We danced and enjoyed a lot. Books are easily accessible in our college. Anyone can issue any book from the college library by their Identity card. There are also so many books available in the college library. There is a very big ground in our college where students play cricket, football, kho kho, volleyball and many other sports offered by our college. Also there are so many societies in our college. Joining societies help in learning new things and also help in personality development.

Admission

Honestly , I didn't chose this college. This college is allotted to me according to my CUET Exam Score. Otherwise this college was my 45th preference. But the cutoff was very high for my Course so I landed here only. The admission process was quite simple. First of all you have to attempt CUET and after that fill preferences according to your score. After that you have allotted a college then that college will automatically email you about the physical document verification and it's done. After physical verification you can attend the classes regularly, means now you have become the student of that particular college.

Faculty

The faculty to student ratio is fine, as we have 60 students in one class. All the faculty members are pro in their field. And they teach students very passionately and dedicatedly. They want the students to learn new things and help students in learning new things.

Likes

Affordability in terms of fee structure and degree they don't have huge amount of fee for any particular program.
Market value as its the oldest and known college of delhi university and their new buildings makes it value for money college.

Dislikes

college do not have proper hygiene in terms of classroom and campus

its highly reletive as they claim and mention in their course structure. they overall difficulty level the exam level are also moderate and if its about the areas for improvement they should focus key campus and library area its should be accessable to all

supportive and approachable who explains concepts really well, like pallavi mam and shweta mam
good campus life like cafeteria area, library, and classrooms

could get a bit crowded when both the shifts have classes

the whole reason i chose jims kalkaji is beacuse of placements it is popular for placements it offers multiple placements after your 3rd or 4th year of specializtion different multiple companies come here to pick students.

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.
Opportunities provided to students are great

The attendance policy is a little strict for 1st and 2nd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Shyam Lal College( Morning) Review

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. BCOM helps to understanding real world bussiness practices , accounting sytem etc . on;ine study material recordimg leture and assigments also make flexible for students to study their own pace. exams are usually conducted semister wise the difficulty level 0of exam are moderate if students were attend the class regulary and prepare well

i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

Dislikes

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

A balance mix of academics, activities and affordability

DU life is better than any other college life

It depends on the merit list and the entrance exam that is CUET. The merit list is declared on the DU website. I searched for it on the collegedunia website and other websites. Application fees for UR-500 Rs. and OTHER-250 Rs. The admission process is quite similar to other colleges of DU. And I chose the BA program, so my eligibility criteria were a 12th pass in any stream.
