Course Curriculum Overview

5

I wanted to learn programming. So I choosed the course but I have to study so many extra subjects which have no use in the career I want. Moreover my parents forced a little to choose this. Rest all is okay. And after coming here, I loved engineering and have been doing very awesome things.

Internships Opportunities

2

I don't know much about internships but Yeah a lot of paid internship and certificate offers keep coming. But most are paid and we have to pay money for it. But yes they provide internship opportunities.

Placement Experience

3

The placements are just average. Companies come everyday or everyweek. Placement drive keeps running all time. Packages above 10 LPA have very very high competition. Courses have everything to crack a good package off campus. But students aren't studious they don't know anything they just blame the university

Fees and Financial Aid

I have 15% scholarship and my per semester fee is 1 lakh 18 thousand+ rupees. My friends also have similar fee cause most of them have similar scholarship. For scholarship, there's a one time entrance test. The scholarship will only retain if the student maintains 7.5+ CGPA. But the university tries its best to remove scholarship of most students. Course is good but fee is a bit high

Campus Life

5

So many Tech festivals are there. Hackathons are organized. Recently even an inter university hackathon was there. Its all highly engaging for tech enthusiasts. Library is accessible to everyone till 10 pm for normal days and till 4:30pm on sat and Sundays. Huge range of books are there. Computers are there and all required technologies are also here. Sports utilities are also there. There are many student run social groups but it all disturbs academics.

Hostel Facilities

4

I am in hostel. We have fan, cooling duct, bed, chair, table, almirah, switchboard and LAN port. Our rooms are very very small. These were 3 seater rooms earlier and now they're made 4 seater forcefully so it feels small for 4 people. Meals are provided 4 times a day and food is good. Hostels are quite affordable and we have to register hostel every year once.

Admission

I didn't choose this college. I didn't even liked this. I had cracked admission in govt. College[uiet, KU] in CSE. But my parents were mindwashed by their colleagues to choose private uni. I wanted to go to normal college. The fee is very high here. In Chitkara, I couldn't get admission cause I was late. CU, Chitkara etc. Are very expensive. For coming to CU, we just need 60%+ in 12th cbse with non medical science. They don't even require jee. I cleared jee mains and I ended here where JEE isn't even required. The most preferred exam here is "ITPS [C programming]

Faculty

5

The faculty to student ratio is around 1 teacher at a time per 60 students in theoretical class. And 1 to 30 in labs. Faculties are good at teaching. But some aren't good enough at communication skills. The Faculties that I found best were ITPS professor [dr. Priti Gupta], Mathematics professor [dr daljit kaur], communication skills teacher [miss Amreen and Miss Gargi Verma] all the other Faculties were also too good. These all made the whole class understand the subjects to much extent . I didn't liked the physics faculty too much due to the ignorant behavior towards students. They focused more on completing syllabus from their side. Ignoring if the students actually understand the concepts . But still the professor taught it all completely and to the points. We have to give 2 mid semester exams and 1 time end semesters. The mis sems are very very easy but marking is strict. Moreover students are the ones who don't study much. Rest all is good. Many students fail to clear the mathematics exams cause it requires practice. Syllabus is relevant. Just the students are the ones who blame the system

Night Life

4

Gym is there but its very crowded and everyone can't even access it. Cafeterias are so many in hostels and other places also. Cafeterias in campus close at 9 PM and hostel gate closes at 7:30 for girls and 9 PM for guys. Cafeterias in boys hostel is open till 12 mid midnight. And food is also very good. Inside the university, the fountain area is the most visited places for hangout. But there are no nearby places near university. University is completely outside from chandigarh and is near a village in abandoned land. Out campus environment is safe but girls should avoid going in the dark. It's all not as urban as in universities in cities like PU or IIT delhi.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
