Course Curriculum Overview

3

The main reason for me to choose this course was its caught my attention and my interest in this field grew with time. The curriculum can be made better with practicals and real world visits to put our theoretical understanding into practice. The frequency of exams is normal with good timings. And I would rate the difficulty 3.5/5 of the exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college takes semester wise fees and it ranges from 12,500 to 18,000, depending on the semester. Odd semesters have comparatively higher fees for university registration. The SC , ST have lesser fees than the general catagory. All of my batchmates fall in the general category so we have the to pay the same amount of fee. Other than that we have to pay the end semester examination fee that is around 2500. Our college provides scholarships like NSP, which is a government scheme and financial assistance to the students in need, which is at the expense of the college.

Campus Life

3

The college is still in its developmental phase and doesn't hold any fests. The college has a full fledged library that has all the books required for the courses offered by our college. The classroom are equipped with smartboards and internet connectivity. The sports committee is functional and organises events regularly.

Admission

I chose this college because it was the only one in the state to provide the course that i was looking for. This was the only college i applied for and got accepted here. The college takes admission through JKCET exams that are held every year.

Faculty

4

The faculty of the college is really cooperative and helpful in every way. The faculty is usually on contract bases and keep changing but the best are always retained by the college. We have 2 minor (internal) exams and one major (external) exam in one semester. The exams are of good standard and take efforts to crack.

Night Life

1

The college doesn't have a gym, cafe or other similar facilities. The hostel is still under construction and is not yet functional. The college campus opens for students at 9 am and closes at 4 pm. Outside the college we have lush green mountains suitable for trekking and we have manasbal lake that is a really relaxing spot to chill.

The placement of our college is Average and the students are eligible in 7 semester for placement. If the student has any backlog in any of the semester they can't sit in the college placement and also it has minimum criteria of 6.5 cgpa. The percentage of students getting placement is very low sadly

Remarks:

The positive of this college is that the environment is academic friendly and there is a level of strictness maintained by the college authorities. Lack of modern infrastructure and absence of various general and academic facilities hampers the ideal college life of balancing the knowledge and enjoying the college time.
