Review of my College

I chose this course because of my interest in Computer Science. The course offered a variety of subjects which helped me to strengthen my concepts in the basics of computer science field. And it also helped me to navigate through subject like machine learning and data sceince which teaches advance concepts. The curriculum not only focuses on the theory part of the subjects but also on the practical part. Apart from the academics the soft skills and personality development classes were also held which helps to increase the confidence of the students and also helps for further interview processes. One area which needs improvement is the outdatation of some of the subjects. For example, in web technology no one uses Servlets today. There are some new technologies like spring and springboot which is used. The course should be revised again and it should be updated according to the current need of the industry. The exams are not that difficult if you study regularly. And there are almost 3 exams held in each semester as mentioned earlier.

The college itself provides a summer internship training for students which is unpaid. Apart from this you can opt any summer internship off campus. You will get NOC easily if it is a great comapny and offers a good stipend. The college also supports projects which are evry innovative and new. And they also helo studenst who want to publish there research papers as well.

The placement of KIET for the last few years have been around 97%. Students are eligible to sit in campus placements from the 7th semester. Some of the companies which come in college are - - Infosys - Capgemini - Cognizant - Accenture - WIpro - TCS - Tech Mahindra - Airtel - L&T - Adani - SMS - BSNL - Cisco - Rapipay - Proc DNA - Innovacer and many more. The highest package went from campus placements if 24 LPA from Cisco. The average package is 6-7 LPA

The fees structure was same for all the students irrespective of their caste. The tution fee for all the 4 years was 122000 and the hostel fees varied depending upon the choice of room of the individual. For triple seater the price is 96000. For double seater it is 98000. Fro single seater it is 102000. If you want to avail for an AC room it is the actual amount of the room including 25000 more for a single person in a triple seater. In double seater the price of AC is 50000. And for single seater it is 75000. Apart from this there is an extra examination fee which you have to pay in every year. It is around 8000 every year. The Lab fees, extra ciricular activities fees are all included in the tution fee. Also, there is a state scholarship programe in every state. For example if you're from UP then there are two scholarships Saksham scholarship and Pragati Scholarship. You can avail any of it based on your eligibility. The amount recieved varies between 50000 - 100000 every year.

The campus life at KIET is wonderful. There are various technical, literary, music, dance and social clubs which helps in developing the overall personality of the student. There are frequent events held in college of different clubs whcih helps to create an atmosphere of fun and learning. The hostels have gym which is included in the hostel fee. There are also night canteens which satisfies your midnight cravings. If you are not able to study in you room because of roomates then the hostel also has study rooms with AC facility where you can go an study the entire night without any disturbance. There is also a central library in college which has a diversity of books. The central library also has a big study room. The auditorium of college is very big having the capacity to accomodate around 800-900 students at once. There is a newly built H Block whcih has various club rooms. There is also a drone technology centre and robotics centre.

I opted for hostel for the first three years of my college. Honestly speaking the hostel at KIET are on of the best. It has almost all the facilities. It has gym, a badminton court, a huge garden area etc. The mess food is average. It is tasty but the items are very repeated so it gets boring after sometimes and it does not get changed frequently. For my 4th year I opted for a PG outside the college. There are many great PGs outside the college. I opted foe the one very near to it with a double seater option. The price of the room was 3000 per month and the elcectricity bill was to be paid accordinlgy. It was at a walking distance from the college. The locality was great as only families were there so the colony in which I was living was very safe. Although sometimes there were instances when certain cases of robbery were heard. So, you need to be careful if living outside.

I gave JEE exam and applied in AKTU counselling. The colleges which I opted for was IET Lucknow, JSS Noida and KIET Ghaziabad. I did not got IET Lucknow because it was a government college and my score was not that much to get into it. I got JSS noida but i did not opted for it because I heard the placements of JSS is not going well from few years. And also I did not got my choice of branch in JSS. Hence, I opted for KIET because I got the choice of my branch and also the placments of KIET were quite good.

The faculty to student ratio of teachers in KIET is 1:17. The relationship between students and faculties is great. They are very appraochable. Even the head of the department of also very supportive. Speaking of my department, I was in Information and Technology branch. The HOD was very humble and supportive. He always encouraged students to follow the passion and never stopped them from doing anything new. There are a total of 3 exams in one semester. The first is CT which covers the half of the syllabus. Second is PUE whcih is Pre University Examination whcih covers the entire syllabus. And the third is the university exam itself.

The nightlife is wonderful. The campus is huge so all the students walk around campus at night along with friends and in groups and enjoy the beauty of it. There is a huge cricket and basketball ground where students play after classes. There are other sports as well like volleyball, football, badminton etc. It alsoo has indoor sports facility. There are gym for girls and boys in hostels. There is a very famous place inside college called as BT, where students go around to have tea and maggie etc and they also hang out around a big tree which is near BT. Hungry nights is also one of the cafeteria inside college which delivers food to students inn the hostel at night. College campus is vary great to hang out with friends at night, but outside the college is not that great. Since the college is very far from the main city, there are not many options for any fun activity. And also it is a highway road so it might be a little risky.
