What Students Say

Likes

The library is well equipped with books and journals.
The campus is pretty big and well equipped with all facilities.
The security is good as nobody without id proof can get in the campus.

Dislikes

The teachers are not very helpful and you cannot get in touch after class hours.
The management is very lazy as everything is pretty slow.
The classroom and furniture is pretty old and rusty.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is based on the new education policy and is pretty up to date according to me. It also teaches you some real world skills to the students. That's all I can tell about this as I am not very knowledgeable about this.

Class Size: 75Course Fees: INR 14650 per year

Internships Opportunities

The college provides many placement opportunities for the students. It promotes the students in second year to do internships and provides them many opportunities for internship in the college . Companies like Deloitte also come for internship.

Placement Experience

The placement cell is not as robust as some other colleges but it's still pretty okay. You will get placement opportunity only in a select few courses and even in them not many get selected but many good companies visit the college like KPMG, Pwc etc.

Fees and Financial Aid

My college is very affordable as the fees is minimal and the college also provides many scholarship opportunities for the students who are economically weak. The fees for all the courses is affordable.

Campus Life

The college has almost all the facilities for the students like sports fields, well equipped library, areas for students to hangout etc . There are also many students run clubs and societies like dance, music,ncc etc.

Admission

This college has a good name and I wanted to get into delhi university as I had heard a lot about it from my peers and seniors and this college is a part of University of Delhi. I really wanted to get in Delhi University and giving the exam I was pretty confident that I will get in so I did not apply to many other colleges.

Faculty

The faculty members are okayish as they are good at teaching but they don't really help you when you need it and you can't find them after class. Some teachers also try to make things difficult for the students intentionally.

Night Life

There is no night life as there is no hostel facility in the college and the surrounding areas too are mostly dominated by government offices as it is a prime location so there is no night life in the college.

Likes

The faculty members are supportive, knowledeable. Teacher explain concepts clearly and encourage student to participate in discussion
I like friendly and comfortable campus environment. student from different background intreact with each other
The college provides a good acedemics foundation and opptunities for overall development. being Part of delhi university also give student exposure to different events

Dislikes

some classroom and campus facilitues need improvement
placement oppotunites can be improved, esecially for student looking for better corporate exposure.
the evening college schedule can something be inconveibient because many acitvity and oppotunities are generally more accessible during regular college hours

I would rate the course curriculum around 4 out of 5. The curriculum is well structured and covers important subject related to commerce, accounting, finance, economics and business. I chose this course because is provides a strong foundationfor higher studies, competetives exam and careers in the cmmerce field

Life at South Campus

Likes

The crowd at venky is great, diverse crowd.
The campus is well maintained and is one of the bests at DU.
Opportunities provided to students are great

Dislikes

The attendance policy is a little strict for 1st and 2nd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course provides a comprehensive image of finance and management, though after NEP, the curriculum seems a little irrelevent. The exams are conducted twice in a year, 2 sems per year, they conduct mid sem exams as well.

Shyam Lal College( Morning) Review

Likes

College is improving day by day teaching faculty is also helpful it recently got A++ NAAC credition as well
Overall college is good if you have good peer group.
Near to north campus so doesn't really feel much of headache if you want to visit regularly.

Dislikes

Shadara is not a good place to spend your college life.
Evening college crowd has made the reputation of the college bad.
Near by area is not safe for Girls in late hours.

Placement Experience:

6th sem is the first time college placement are proceeded . Companies are not impressive and mostly are entry level jobs such as cold calling and such which they offer. Highest package was 4 lpa and avg was 2.5 only. Around 60 percent students gets placed.

Likes

The online learning platform is easy ans simple to use students can acces lecture and assigments and study materials anytime
Faculty mambers provide clear guidance through online sessions and study materials they are supportive
They procides recording that was very usefull when we will not attend the live class

Dislikes

Since the classes are in online and also there are some techical issues while taking classes that will interupt classes
placement support is limited in online classes so students need to search for internships and job oppertunities on their own
Its deffecult to connect student coordinators while we wnat exam timetable etc they are too slow

I choose BCOM because the want to take ACCA after BCOM it will helps to improve my career and give a better job and also BCOM is the basices of ACCA like law, financial managment, taxation etc .The curriculam provide strong fountation for students who wamts to pursue higher studies such as M.COM , MBA and professuonal couses. BCOM helps to understanding real world bussiness practices , accounting sytem etc . on;ine study material recordimg leture and assigments also make flexible for students to study their own pace. exams are usually conducted semister wise the difficulty level 0of exam are moderate if students were attend the class regulary and prepare well

Likes

Faculties are best. They teaches you and create never ending bond with you.
Infrastructure is good but the area is small , the greenery is amazing and flowers are sooo sweetest.

Dislikes

No hygiene in canteen. Avoid eating from canteen.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum is highly relevant notably the focus on real world applications and Advanced Financial reporting. It prepared me well for professional life. Improvement is needed in digital tool exposure.

i dont like any thing in this college

there is a green gaurden in my colleges old campus
we have a big ground in our college which i like i can play football there
they make an football ground in old campus which is good

Dislikes

techers are not good in teacing they just want to let it go the classes
my college was too small and the classes are not properly furnished for my class size
there is no place for sit in the shade or to make our mind diverted or have fun and the canteen is worst of old campus

i am from commerce background i want to do eco honers but in 12th i dont have mathematics so i cant then i decideid for b. com honers but i aloted the b.com program which is my 3rd priority umm i leanrd new things in my ncc and with my friends there are very less college activities to i dont know how to make my college life good and make some experiences they can make us travel with them to the real buiseness or any factory or a relay paper work from any company i want to do a camp in jab which is good for my ncc life but it is during my exams thats why i cant did that camp yet

i liked their faculty member and staff , they are played with students and taught as a friend
i liked canteen service and their foods it is hygienic but canteen infrastructure is not good
i liked their ground its have bollyball court basketball court badminton court and cricket ground also and they provide gym in college

Dislikes

i didn't like their campus because its not too much big
and college provide which lift service is not working properly
their bathroom is not too good and not too much hygienic

Course Curriculum Overview:

i choose bcom hons and all teacher are provide their 100% on their courses but neet to improve in practical exam because some computer not working and teacher teach students in one computer but there is no difficult paper according to time some time it's lengthy.

I have applied for I have applied for few of the north campus colleges and few other colleges from the South campus. I got confirmed admission form DCAC. I chose it because I am a tabla player and music society is very good. The admissions are generally accepted to CUET UG examination. Pros and Cons of Dyal Singh College

Dyal Singh College comes under the University of Delhi this the admissions are done on the basis only CUET exam results. I had applied to other top Delhi University Colleges and some private colleges aswell however I didn't get very high marks in CUET and thus fell short of the cutoff of really big colleges but luckily I cleared this colleges cutoff and although I was accepted in a few other private colleges I chose this college as it offered not only great ROI but also a very active social life...Read More
