Course Curriculum Overview

5

In biology the zoology part is my favourite part so that's why I took this course . I would like to rate 7 out of 10 for our college for the course curriculum. They help us to bring new things to study They need to improve the lab and more practical classes so that we can focus on study more . Our faculty use to take exam on every single month and the difficulty level of that question is moderate .. getting 70% at that paper is also tough

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees around 8k and something more along with registration and exam fees and tuition fees. 250rs for library charges Lab fees are included. I'm from general category . There's no another fees structure for sc st or obc .. We didn't get any scholarship from college. But got vivekanand scholarship from merit basis

Campus Life

5

Our college used to organise different types of activities and programme and social meet up for students. Annual programme and farewell and everything celebrated here with joy. Though our college campus is not that huge but they provide us different place to do this kinda party and fun. We celebrate different types of festivals like Saraswati pujo. They took us for educational trip and excursion even for one day. And inter College debate competitions on football and other games also organised by our college . The availability of different types of book is kinda tough so they need to look at that point .

Admission

I got selected for other colleges too for this course . But I took admission in this college over any other colleges because of the faulty that I have heard from my brother . Another reason is the location. Yes it's the another reason as it's really easy to find out this college . And our college is just 1 min away from the metro station gate no 3. And any bus is available from that place . The college rating is also good . I got rejected from 1 particular college but I've no regret for that . The eligibility criteria of our college is that one have to get atleast 70 % for general and 45% for sc st and other . Admission is way more easy

Faculty

4

The faculty members and the Hod is really good undoubtedly. They're helpful and create a good atmosphere for us. It's a 3 years of course . 6 semester are there in the course . Admission fees per year is around 5k . Including library charges and lab fees and semester fees are approximately around 800 - 900 rs . Practical exams are my favourite part of my college life. I would like to mention the best faculty of our college is zoology faculty specially Dr. Saikat sir who's our zoology professor. The way he used to explain everything is on another level. He's so good and helpful .. Personally don't like chemistry faculty as they're not so punctual and they are not really so helpful. The zoology and the botany paper is at moderate level of difficulty And chemistry is also not so tough but I found that tough though . If a student fail to clear they have to re appear next year to clear the exam .

Night Life

5

Though our college didn't provided us any hostel facilities but the night life of our college is also damn good. We don't have any gym near or in our campus but we have so many cafeterias near our college and campus . One of our favourite cafe is The little cafe which is just 1 min away from our campus and we use to visit almost every evening and night. Best hangout place from our college is bagbazar ghat and chapatola ghat. Its really a peaceful place . One can observe ganga and sit beside that river nd it's more beautiful during night time .

Placement Experience:

People who major in my department usually opt for masters over placement not because of this college but because overall industrial or academic opportunities are better with a pg degree. Masters from this college is not recommended as i have heard so from my seniors. Some of my seniors managed to crack competitives and secure MSc seats at great places. Training and Placement cell had a good coordinator previously but now its almost non existent. Companies do come and hire Bpharm, Mpharm and MSc candidates. Packages are below average. Only Nestle pays well. But if you do well you'll eventually climb up the corportate ladder. From the time i am here i have not heard of any BSc candidate getting placed. Most go for higher studies.

Placement Experience:

The average package offered for such roles ranges between ?2–3 LPA, while the highest package offered to a BSc student is around ?4 LPA, depending on skills and specialization. Overall, around 15–20% of BSc students get placed through campus drives, and many students rely on off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is very relevant as it provides us an overall knowledge of biology and not dividing it into various sections rather giving us an insight of every aspect of biology. It includes everything such as microbiology, zoology, botany, physiology, molecular biology and so on.

Completely relevant. As the college is autonomous it has its own syllabus. Which matches with the net gate jam exam syllabus. When someone came our college for seminar they strange that we know this much. Exam are quite difficult in 2 months interval.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum was well thought out as per me but there were subjects that i found absolutely unnecessary. Subjects like history evs and clc were in no way related to my course. Coming to the main subjects Design, Printing, Photography and film and Media Training were absolutely necessary for my course and whilst the faculty for some of these subjects were really bad, some were good. It is also important to mention none of these subjects actually helped us prepare for the real world. Instead internships and freelance helped us more than these subjects could ever do. Exams were held bi monthly to keep track of what we learnt and every 6 months we had our semester exams. Overall if you want to be a media professional INTERNSHIPS AND JOBS WILL HELP YOU MORE THAN A COLLEGE WILL. I am biased on this opinion as my college didnt provide me with the correct guidance and support i needed to make it in the real world.

In case of computer science department, placement is provided at the Last year of M.sc course. Many companies like Wipro, b10x, Tata visited here. Highest package ever is three lakh per annum. 20-40% of the students got placement after completing M.Sc computer science. My plan after B.sc is to pursue MCA.

Course Curriculum Overview:

* It's all about practical knowledge, we are getting from this course and another aspect is if you wants to make your career in research or lecturer then you should go for it. *No changes required in teaching methods but if college will provide hostel facilities and campus requirement drive, then it will better for candidates.
