Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

About Mechanical Course curriculum, you can bother the least, because it requires tough and expert teaching. But here many faculty members have just mugged up books and vomit whatever they know. Otherwise the course is really good. The exam structure is as follows: 3 IA(Internal Assessment) of 20 marks each, are held from which best 2 out of 3 are taken. Assignment is given based on which marks is given and added to make a sum of 50 marks. A student should score at least 20/50 to be eligible for final (SEE)exam. SEE(Semester End Exam) is the final exam of the semester of 100 marks which is condensed to 50 marks. Then both IA and SEE marks are added and grade is assigned.

Placement Experience

2.5

Placements varies depending on branch. If one is from CS, IS or EC branch, then they get placed easily. If you are from mechanical, electrical, or civil, then you will have tough time getting placed in core companies. May doesn't prefer mechanical engineering for this reason. and about internship, as of mechanical branch, the professors are least bothered about students getting internship. They don't even tell the importance of internship.

College Events

2

This college celebrates various events: 1. Fresher's day where new admitted students perform various kinds of acts in which they Excell. They are taught by seniors of the college. They perform depending on their division they are in. Like if they are in A division, so all A division will perform different acts in the way to win prizes for their division. 2. Fiesta is that event where the seniors and juniors perform depending in which group they are. 3. Insignia is the biggest fest of this College and probably the whole district where famous artists hosts special events.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no loan or scholarship facility offered by this college. One has to either come via CET to be able to decrease the cost of engineering else it is very expensive. Loan must be taken from bank and scholarship is not applicable for many students like me who is from General Category and CBSE board. Karnataka government gives scholarship to only those students who are educated from Karnataka government board.

Campus Life

2.5

Thai college is poor in extracurricular activities. Just study- study and write-write type. Authorities give very less exposure to real world knowledge. We have mechanical labs where the apparatus is apparently 20 years type old. They are either not working properly or completely dead. This college gives complete attention to CS, IS and EC branches.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumnus are very humble and helpful throughout the duration of engineering. Whenever we contact them, they are always ready to help us. I personally have taken so much help from them in my 2 years of engineering journey.

Admission

I got admitted in this college via COMED-K. In COMED-K process, one has to write exam, marks is given, and based on marks, one had to select the college and branch. Then computer selects the college from the given user's list automatically. Then the person has to verify his identity and marks with COMED-K authorities in a allocated place on a given date. After verification process, the student has to come to college to get admission by giving them a receipt of proof obtained from COMED-K verification process. That's all

Faculty

4

The faculty is nice. Many faculty members are humble. But they lack in real Knowledge. They have just read and mugged up the book. They just come to class, blabber the stuff and go away. Many don't even know basic knowledge of the subject they are teaching. But very few faculty members Excell in their category. They truly deserve respect.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
