Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum is for sure relevant with the course and I am very happy to choose this course as the physics department professors are qualified in the field of physics. Also they take us out for many programs and also encourage us to apply for summer schools and summer internships. Our college also organisation various research schools for example the topical research School that is organised every year by the department of physics and the invite professors for lectures from all over the country including Calcutta Bangalore etc. they also take us out for night sky views and celestial body views to the nearest Assam University. Even if the papers are long but I think we get enough time for the preparation of exam. Sometimes the teacher fail to complete the course but they make it sure that they provide the notes to us. But one thing that needs to be improved is that teachers should take us out more for excursions. Because as physics students it is important for us to go out and have real life experience hai.

Internships Opportunities

3

There are many internship opportunities that are present within the college for various departments. The teacher always encourage us to apply for internships and summer schools so that it can benefit us with the course that we have chosen. There are also dessertation programmes. It is of 100 marks. And the students of both 11th and 12th do a exhibition with their science projects and graduation students also take part in it. Overall the opportunities are very good but it can be better. I think they should offer more opportunities for the students.

Placement Experience

4

Yes there are many students who get placement from this college but from my course they do not offer any placement because it is just bachelor course and obviously for getting any placement for physics you need to complete masters or at least PHD. But there are many other departments like the English department and the education department and also the literature department that offers placement and somewhere the annual salary is 3 lakh to 4 lakh. I have plans to do masters from the nearest University after I pass my bachelors this is all that I have planned for now. Any five talk about the percentage that the student get it rangers from 90 to 95%. But ye student can apply for masters program while they are in the 6 semester.

Fees and Financial Aid

The admission fees was 7000 for my course. After that there were no additional charges after I took the admission. Before my semester exams I need to pay a lump sum amount of 900 rupees. 600 for university form fill up and 250 or 300 for centre fee payment. 2nd year we need to pay 5000 for new admission and in 3rd year we need to pay 5000 for the last admission. In this way this is the amount I have been paying. Apart from this we get rupees 1000 every month in our bank account for buying books from the Government of Assam. And there are many others scholarship schemes also for 12th students. And one more thing that I want to include is that the student who are economically backward that is the people who have their annual income less than 2 lakh or so they can apply for fee wavier where they are exempted from pain any kind of examination fee. This is need to pay rupees 200 for the centre fee. Also there are other scholarship schemes by the government of Assam that the students can apply. If you do not apply for fee wavier in the first year then you will not be able to do it in the second and third year also.

Campus Life

5

There are many annual and technical festivals that are celebrated for example the topical research School that I have told you about earlier also there are many student interactive festivals and fests that are held. There are many books available in the library. And there are smart classes and labs too. Sports festival and annual sports day are also celebrated where people come and participate and its very interesting to be present in those programs. And yes there are cultural groups and student union also who look after all the work. They also help us to demand for what we need from the college. Elections are also held in this college sometimes it is hectic because the parties start scobbleing with each other. But it is fun. If I want to rate my college in terms of enjoyment then I think the enjoyment will come from the friends hat you make here. Most of my friends are very nice and enjoyable and I really enjoy my time with them.

Admission

I think the reason I took admission in this college is because this place is very far away from my actual home town and I wanted to go somewhere else so that I can take the experience from the outer world and not stay bounded within the boundaries of my own hometown. The college in my hometown which is the Bholanath college is not good at all in terms of physics. And financially I am not that stable to go to Guwahati and study there for I prefer to choose this place. The place is awesome and the college is awesome to prose and cons are present in every college not every college is perfect. No I did not get rejected from any college because I did not apply it in any other college except for this.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties are where educated and they always help the students to get through all the exams. The head of our department Dr apratim nag sir is a great teacher, also Dr Rajashree Krishna nath and Dr Indira dey. All of them are well educated and they always help all the students they also encourage us to give exams related to physics. If I talk about exams so in every semester we have to give internal exams and then we have to give the university exam for passing our semester and then we need to give the practical exams. But practical exams are not for all departments. Most of the exams are very easy the internal exams are easy as well and the marks add up to the final mark. Internal exams are of 20 marks and practical exams are of 30 marks there for the internal and practical exam adds up to 50 marks. The rest 50 marks are from the University semester exams. The exams are very moderate to difficult some questions are repeated from the previous year papers. So if a student follows the previous year paper and attends the class properly then he can get through all the exam. The marks are given as CGPA and sgpa.

Night Life

5

Main college has a gym for girl and a gym for boys there is two cafeteria's and a big public library. There are three hostels 2 for boys and one for girls. And the college is open college so local people can also pass through the roads and it is always lightened up. There is no darkness inside the college even in the night the lights are always on and it is very beautiful to pass through the college streets in the evening and night. There are many local xerox shops and cafeteria's near the college. Sometime it is very noisy but it is very peaceful in the evening. and I think those xerox machines are very helpful for students lol. The famous hangout place inside our college is a local Jackfruit tree. Students love sitting under it. And yhe famous sapna aunty's shop. We love it. We love to hagput there.

I choose this course i.e. department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.
