Course Curriculum Overview

3

The curriculum covers all the important subjects and it's basics, because without the basics there is nothing. The curriculum is improved Every year. The structure of the curriculum is very optimal. The basics subjects comes first and it's advanced after that. But the lab is not following that rule, which kinda sucks. The curriculum doesn't prepare a student for real life problems that much, but it does help in further academic pursuit I would suggest to add more real life problems, hand on training and interships. For teaching you can use the lab to explain the machineries and make the student make models of things that would go a long way. The first exam is after the 3rd month and 2 nd second exam is near 5th month, there would be class test conducted by faculty sometimes others than this exams, and at the end of the semester there is sem exam and lab exam. Most of the exams are easy if u prepare well . The viva questions from the lab exam can be a little tricky.

Placement Experience

2

The placements are bad in your college especially in mechanical department. Companies that come are TCS, other IT companies. There was about 30 offers from various companies and 2 from mechanical. After 6th semester you can start sitting in placement cell. The percentage of students getting offers is less than 30% After the degree I'm going to do gate coaching and pursue Mtech

Campus Life

5

Campus Life is really good. Weekly there is programmes from different clubs. There is the music club, movie club, sports club, RC car club, Go cart club, off road club and other international club branches also. We also have a very active NSS programme in the campus consisting of 100 students. There is a arts, sports, and tech fest. There is programmes in special days also. The tech fest Aroa is held during April and the arts fest on March and the sports fest on Jan. Books are available in library,it is easily accessible through Id cards. Journals are also available on sites in which the college has a paid account in. All the class room's are fitted with projecter and white board and adequate space and fans. There is a lot of sports team in the college, the football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, badminton, throwball, table tennis teams. There is lots of student run organization like the movie club, rc club . There is also a social page dedicated to the college students in which all the new things happening in the college is posted there.

Hostel Facilities

3

The hostel facility is really okey, he doesn't usually come so no harm done. The room comes with sockets, fan, bed, mattress and pillow. The meal quality is not that GREAT but it depends on the hostel. the menu wasn't that great. Rice and sambar for lunch. Chapatti and pea curry for breakfast. Chapatti and pea for dinner. No snacks in between. The registration is done during the admission time and have to pay a caution deposit of 10000. Per month it is 4000 rupess. The hostel is situated near the college, just walking distance. It is mankala adoor.

Admission

I choose this college because it was the best college in my area and I wanted to stay near my house. I applied to a lot of colleges like CET, Barton Hill and I am got admission there but I didn't go. I wanted to stay near my parents. Which was a good decision. I got into all the colleges I gave but I choose this college. When comparing with other Colleges , my college doesn't have much campus area or the strength, or that much exposure but it had heart and a bunch of really good facutilies. The admission process is like this After 12th you have to write KEAM , you have to qualify that is 12 marks and according to your rank you can get seats here. Merit seats - below 25k Management seat- above 25k You have to apply online and after the allotment you can come to the college and complete the admission, the faculty and the senior students will help u through this process. My admision experience was good, the process was fast

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties are really good at teaching, all of them completed their Mtech, and some of them their PhD. We have faculty from top IITs and NITs. We have 5 PhD holders in mechanical department. The strength of students is around 200 in the mechanical department. Facutily to student ratio is 1:25 The faculty student relationship is very good, communication is sound, we talk to them at any given time, Every class has a class advisor. All the teachers are approachable. My favourite facutily is Madhu sir . He taught us heat transfer. He was a very good teacher, really good communication skills and he went beyond the syllabus for us to understand the concepts. Venkitraj sir taught fluid mechanics, Jose Mathew sir taught mechatronics, Santhosh sir taught mechanics and cryogenic engineering, Anoop sir taught thermal engineering. They are great teachers , they make the subjects intersting and fun to learn. There wasn't any bad facutilies they just didn't try hard. There is 5 modules in a subject The first series exam consist of 2.5 module and the second series exam, the remaining 2.5 modules. At the end there is a sem exam. And a lab exam Series'exam out of 50 Sem exam out of 100 The series exam is easy and the sem exam can be hard sometimes. Most students pass the series exam, but the sem exam is a bit different. Only 50% pass the sem exam. The curriculum is very relevant and it is changed according to the trends every year.

Night Life

4

My favourite hangout spot is the basketball court and the canteen. The ground can be used till 7 pm. Because of lack of light after 7pm it is not possible to Play. If you take permission from the principal u can stay longer if u have needs. The Go cart club agneya works at night building the car in the workshop which is inside the college. The gym closes at 7pm. The Library at 5:30Pm All the other areas around 7pm The hostel timing are till 11pm The famous hangout spots are the canteen, red step, the parking area, nss corner, mech corner or the main building. The hangout spots outside are the best stop or near the tea stall or the pond . It is safe to roam around the area at night. The people are nice. Lot of shops are open on the Bypass which is near the college.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is the worst. Teachers rush through the portions so that they can finish at the earliest. It may be because the university has a unjustifiable timetable. There is very little practicals given. The ones that are given are just for namesake.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.
