Remarks

I have described most of it in my above answers. It could be a lot better in terms of faculty and curriculum, as well as support for extra curricular activities. Infrastructure wise it is really good. Even the fest is done really well

Course Curriculum Overview

3

Vtu course curriculum is outdated and needs to be updated. Exam structure that is currently there is solely for checking your memory and not your skill/knowledge. It is very easy to get top grades by just studying the previous night of the exam.

Placement Experience

3.5

Placements are pretty good in terms of numbers, but it doesn't compare to universities like MIT manipal or NITK or similar colleges where they have good, relevant companies that pay well instead of IT Service based companies who pay minimum, that come to our college

College Events

2.5

College fest - SENTIA. Very grand and goes on for 4 days. Big celebs are called (Benny dayal, sunidhi, ankit Tiwari, Shreya goshal, Sonu Nigam) every year. Honestly, it's the only good thing about the college

Fee Structure And Facilities

If you get in through entrance exam, it's fairly inexpensive - 62000 a year (41k in that is university fees, rest goes to college). If you get through management, then it ranges from 1.5L - 4.5L per year, based on the course. apart from that, there are loads of other fees, ranging from miscellaneous fees to random additional courses (10-20k each) that have helped no student ever.

Fees and Financial Aid

None that I know of. Not sure why this has a two hundred character limit. This shouldn't be a required question since there might be people, like me, who don't know about the various scholarships offered

Campus Life

4.5

Labs are fairly decent. There's a separate lab for each subject. So basically infrastructure wise the college is good. Sports are not bad, there is basketball, cricket, volleyball etc but not a lot of support from the faculty. I was part of the music band, and there was minimal to no support for that either

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network is useful, in terms of getting placements and keeping connected. There could be a better system than having "Official" whatsapp groups though. Emails are sometimes sent, but not followed up very often

Admission

Wrote the entrance exam, CET. Then there were counseling rounds. Got selected in the first round based on general merit list. Went to the college and paid the fees etc. There was no interview or anything of that sort.

Faculty

1.5

Faculty are not knowledgeable enough about the subjects. Very old fashioned and not adapting to new requirements. Still have schoolteacher mentality about most things like exams, studying, talking, attendance, calling parents etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Curriculum is a mix of both Computer Science and AIML which is increasingly relevant in today's world. Second year: Subjects like Mathematics for AIML, Data Structures, Stats for Data Science, Computer Networks, Third year: DBMS, ANN, ML operations Some other elevtives are also available and courses like Universal Human Values, POME, EIPR etc. Honestly, POME, EIPR, UHV should have less course credits and probably MCQ type exams (like IC and Yoga in first year). Curriculum is good and updating for applications helped along with projects. Exams are generally once in a month, 1.5 - 2 units for each subject each exam. Lab exams at the very end before CIE marks finalization. Then 2 weeks gap for Lab SEE, then 1 week gap and actual SEE's.

Placement Experience:

KSIT has an average placement rate of 70%-85% depending on the branch . CSE,ISE and ECE branches have higher placements while mechanical and civil have fewer opportunities in IT sector . Average package is about 4-6LPA . KSIT attracts many IT based recruitiers with some core companies for non -IT branches . It also provides pre-placement training, coding boot cams, aptitude tests and soft skills development . Alumni network is moderate, but students need off-campus efforts for high paying jobs
