Course Curriculum Overview

3

The course curruculum here gets updated in almost each and every semester as per industries demands and needs for the same, The curriculam is designed as per UGC policy only but some add-ons as per demads of students and even some value added courses are offered by the university to make students get hands on experience. The overall curriculam is designed to make students prepare for upcomming exams(compititive) and also for placements. Teaches follow presentaion based learning model that has its own pros and cons. The exams are held almost at each month and some minor task as projects for each subject are for internals of subjects.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are various internship oppertunities that university offers as after our 2nd semeser we need to performe ocial internship , in which we have to connect to rural part of india and analyse the difficulties and life styles and helping them over a period of month by raising there issues and getting support from political leaders and NGOs. Also ensuring that each of te govt scheme launched to help people in villages they be aware about and get most of it. This wasn't a industrial internship but a intern oppertunity that make us aware of our surroundings. Other than that there are various other oppertunities such as provided by some compalies like cognizant, tcs, wipro , tech mahindra, flipkart and even more, and even drdo. there stipend vary from 5k-1lakh per months, the insitute made us aware of such events by regular sessions with mentors or seminars. and these oppertunities also help students to grab pre placement offers. Also college supports young enterpenures with there ideas to fund them so they can get more reach, focus on major portion of reserch and patents by students , so students not only learn and found good soutions but also have their idea showcase by research papers and patents.

Placement Experience

3

The students get eligible for campus placements from 6th semester. The placement record is good with most of top compnies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Flipkart, TCS, Mahindra and many more companies comming to campus almost each there to recruit top brains. The highest package that was offerd was 1.7 Cr/Annum. with an decent Average package of around 3-3.5 LPA. There was around 300+ companies comming for placement each year, and almost 60-70% students are able to secure a good placement and some have plans for higher studies or compitive exams.

Fees and Financial Aid

The Tution fee structure for the B.E(CSE) in chandigarh University will be around 1,20,000/Semester,ie 2,40,000/Yearly. Which in total of 4 years will be around 9,60,000(whole course). Other than the semester fee in each semser we have to pay a sum of 2,500 as examination fee, Whereas security will be deposited only once in 1st semester which is refundable. There are no hidden fees for Labs and all everything is included within that. Also there is a nominal fee of 1000 as admission fee which is used to given CUCET(Chandigarh University Common Entrance Test) based on that test students even get schlorships depending on the marks they obtain and it is the good part as scholorships are from 10% to 100%. Even there are merit based Schlorships for students who performed excellent in thier 12th or in JEE(Depnding upon JEE rank one can avial the benift of scholorship. It is important to note schlorships provided here are yearly students need to fuilfill the basic criteria for the continutaion for scholoships. Other than this Institue follows Scholorships policy of State and Center Govt. to suppport lower categories students in addition to scholorship already given by univesity. Important to note scholorships are applicable on tution fee. Also there are special scholorhsips for the National Sports players. The fee structure for each and every course vary one can reffer to official site for that even for others stream of B.E but its nearly kindof same.

Campus Life

4

The overall experince is good, with various annual fest and cultural fest and also including various promotional events for upcomming movies and all where students get chance to meet and see film stars. Also various submits such as national or international so we can say each day in campus is filled with some mystery. Even some sessions with almuni and also from companies represenative. Also there are various professional and students clubs and socities in the university. Students can even run their own clubs by some permissions where people of same taste group allign and work together and do different things.

Admission

I choosed CU because of its less distant from my home town and the various oppertunities it offered to students for growth in there career. Also choosing this university because of scholorships they offerd(comming from a middle class family i secured to get decent scholoship ammount that made it easy for chooing this university. Where as the fee structures in some university was more high which give almost same oppertunites to the students. I was able to secure some of the very good colleges such as TIET,IISER,NIT,VIT, etc. But i choosed CU because of its exposure and bit affordable fee structure. Eligibilty creteria is simple by any entrance exam, ie CUCET or JEE(for the admission related to B.E) with atleast 60% in 12th boards.

Faculty

3

The faculty is supportive but we need to convince them to ask something efficiently, the faculty to student ratio is good thats the one of reson for the university to be ranked as No 1 private university. In most cases faculty is very supportive and make us learn as if its a friends conversation. Personally i liked all the teaches who taught me till date but the best one wa our Batch Head sir(HOD, CSE 2nd year) Dr. Jaspreet Singh Bath. being a department representative sir made us learn in most pratical way so we be better engg. and humans. and taught us the core of CSE in ease with very good understanding and even made the weekest student to gain more from his leactures. There are 2 MST(Mid semester Test) in each semester and one finnal pratical examd and then finnals. Including all the quizes and internal accessments as per subjects. Exams are easy to clear if studied efficently and majorly student passed them else we have to appere in reappear.

Night Life

4

Night Life is also good, as students are allowed in campus till (10 Pm for boys and 8 Pm for girls) and even one can access the library and shops in campus till 10 PM. The famous cafeterias include FR, Pentagon and even having various banks atms in campus and all thinkable things and facilites in the campus. Even Sports complex has open GYM for all till 8 Pm and each hostel has seprate gyms and study rooms to facilitate students. And yes its totaly safe to roam in campus even during night time you may find guards aking you reason where you going what you doing so its totally safe even for the girls. Its is important to note girls need to get library card so they can use library facilities till 10 PM.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
