Course Curriculum Overview

3

The aspect that influenced me to choose this course is , computer science. I'm interested in coding and programming. The curriculum lacks in preparing you for real-world applications as it focuses on mostly theory part . The improvement they can do is , by teaching students practically more and theoretically less. Because coding requires practice. The difficulty level is average , so frequency and timing of exams are fine .

Fees and Financial Aid

It takes 12000/- per semester. There aren't any particular scholarship for students. But those who have income certificate and ration card gets a huge difference, like they just have to pay 1100/- to 1200/- . There won't be difference in fees on the basis of caste but on the basis of income certificate and ration card.

Campus Life

3

There are General Freshers, Departmental Freshers and some more things every year . General freshers are held in September and Departmental Freshers are held accordingly to teachers and seniors. There are good range and accessibility of books and rage available in the college. Some class rooms have smart board , projecters and all , but most of the classroom does not . The sports and extracurricular aren't offered by college and there's no teacher to supervise you in that . There aren't many student run social groups, clubs , or student portals .

Admission

I was preparing for competitive exams like JEE and CUET , but they didn't work out and most of the colleges like Cotton , B Borah and all dosent provide BSc in computer science. I didn't got a rejectection , but the seat was completely filled by the time i got there. The process for getting admission is : After class 12 results, you have to apply in a website called Samarth , to apply in all over Assam colleges. You can apply in how many you like . In some colleges you can take addmission through JEE scores , or by CEE And by CUET also . The cutoffs aren't much high for this college, 60-70% will get you addmission in Pragjyotish college. The overall addmission experience is good , not to complex.

Faculty

3

The faculty to student ratio is 1:30 or 1:40 . Faculty and student relationship will be dependent on your behaviour. Mostly teachers are good , some are biased . Dr. Masih Sakia is a good teacher and approachable, he's even my teacher. There are 2 exams in a year , 1st one will be sessional exams , they are like preboards before boards , and then after 1 or 2 months you will have the final semester exams. The difficulty is average, not too much.

Night Life

2

There's gym , cafeteria and canteen inside the campus. Their closing time is 5pm or 6 pm , not more than that. There's just girl's hostel inside and college and not any hostel for boys . The campus timings are 8 am to the 4 pm to 5 pm . There's a new branch of Nescafe inside the campus and outside the campus there are many restraunts and local places to hangout. It is locality safe to roam around at night.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose this course i.e. department of Botany because the department ensuring a strong theoretical foundations along with the practical experience. The course prepares well for students as the acedemic results is always good which will make gratutides well equipped for jobs. Some sections of the course should be updated to meet the latest technology, more guests lectures and the interships should be provided to the students. The exams clustering of multiple exams should be within times which relases unneccsary stress, the exams are conducted easy to insane which is very challenging for the students.

Scholarly help and studying materials related to the course are provided by the college however the result are mostly based on self studying due to inefficient management by faculties. The college lacks proper workshops and programs to prepare the students for real world circumstances.
