Likes

The college campus looks amazing there more trees and they maintained daily like watering the plants and trimming the plants etcc
The teaching was great beacuse the professor asked 2 or 3 times if any students have doubts you can ask me in the break period also
Infrastructure was great it look like you old and traditional

Dislikes

I disliked if any cultural or something happens means students only took part in that program
The canteen is small In the break time canteen is fulled
Lack of programs maybe they can arrange more programs

Course Curriculum Overview

Course curriculum is good because i learnt many things at first year like main important topics like in my course is DSA topics the teaching are quite good and for tamil med students is tough because they fully teach in english

I'm first year i asked the senior they said the project are going and placement will come soon they done so many projects like reduce the use of paper and had a soft copy all information in the soft copy

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly fees is 50000 for my course in wcc college exam can vary per semester around 2000 and wcc college available management scholorship they select some students who financially low and they reduce the student fees

Campus Life

At first they senior dramuda programs and after they put junior /freshers dramuda programs and after they celebrate mt holyoke fest which is celebrated well because some celebrity also come for the program im a sports person sports are good

Admission

I choose this college over another college because wcc has great name like loyalo college and it has good placements and i asked quite a few members they said wcc is a great for studying and cultural and placement etcc.. the admission process is simple on the college website we have to apply for it and after applyed they can called the members they mainly see the which course you have want what mark gained in your course related subject And actually I don't know wcc is college some people suggest me after search this college about fees and course and placements

Faculty

Per semester we have 2 CIA exams and 2 assignment test total 100 and semester mark is 100 after all this we have to divide with 2 and the minimum pass is 40% and the pg pass is 50% and the faculty I like one who working on buesar office who helped very lot in my admission process and i didnt like is no one and the faculty students ratio is 1/3

Night Life

Gym is only for hostel students and cafe is good and library is quite nice for reading and hostel fees is 30000 and sunday we can only hangout with senior for firts year and you hangout on your own and the sunday timing is 7 to 5 pm and Saturday and holiday mean and you can go to your home with permission you can hangout in college in lilly pond which is quite and calm place to relax

Likes

They allow all cultural events.They also conduct events in the college

Dislikes

They increase penalty if students dont pay the sem fees on time then they also increase the exam fees from sem to sem

Life in HIMT

Likes

With regards to training and placements the college is very good . All training as per DGMA and IMU is strictly followed and the placements for B.Sc is 90% and above . The faculties and instructors in the college are well experienced and skilled.
The college is strict regarding alcohol and smoking and it is not allowed inside campus and regular alcohol checks are conducted . Discipline and safety is the first priority for the college.
Classrooms are air conditioned. Hostel rooms are good . Any defects in rooms or any places inside college which are addressed are rectified.

Dislikes

College doesn't conduct inter college events . Internal events are very less . The few events conducted in college has also many restrictions.
Galley food can be better . College canteen is not good

Placement Experience:

The placements for B.Sc Nautical science in HIMT is 90% and above . The placement drive usually starts in the 2nd year (4th semester) and for girls 1st year (2nd semester). The companies which usually come for placements in my college are MOLMI,MOLTA, ZODIAC,SANMAR,GENCO, ONESEA etc ... The package for cadets differ from company to company and type of vessel.

HIMT COLLEGE REVIEW

Likes

The faculties are very well experienced and there are captains who stay in the campus itself, so if there’s something we need they will be available all the time
The facilitieslike labs, ship in campus, DB tank facilities etc are top notch
The classrooms are fully air conditioned. There’s smart board. Overall everything is really good and also neat and clean

Dislikes

Galley food can improve a little and canteen is comparatively small for such a big campus
They are not conducting intra- college events and inter-college events is very less

Placement Experience:

Placements are really good in HIMT. I got placed in 1st year itself in MOLMI. All faculties try their best to prepare us for the placements and it shows in the placement interview also. Usually companies come for placements from 2nd year but there are some companies who want to take girl cadets 1st year itself. MOLMI, MOLTA etc came to our college for placements. After completion of the course, company will call for induction and accordingly they will call for joining the ship. For finishing the cadet ship , we have finish 12 months of sea time. After that a lot courses has to be done for appearing in 2 nd mates exam.

LIFE IN HIMT COLLEGE

Likes

System and the Rules followed in this college
Hierarchy system such as committe heads, cadet captains etc
Infrastructure mainly the football and cricket turf

Dislikes

Punishments, because you will get punished when one of your batchmate did anything wrong
Compared to other colleges himt is not celebrating that much for festivals
Regular musters, You will have to attend minimum 3 muster a day

Placement Experience:

I am placed in MOLMI. And sincerely thank HIMT for the placement. The other companies who Recruits cadets from HIMT are Zodiac, MOLTA, Sanmar, Genco, Ozler ONE shipping etc . HIMT have good placement records of 100%, if you have no arrears then for sure will get placed

THE IDEAL COLLEGE LIFE!

Likes

The opportunities to meet new people and interact with a whole new circle of people by Club Activities as there are quite a lot of clubs according to the student's interest.
Many places to showcase our singing and dancing talent once we join the club or take part in any of the department events.
They have multiple labs for a single department so that the students get a lot of hands on training for coding and as well as hardware.

Dislikes

4:3 Ratio of Girls to Boys in my class and i hope it's the same for all the departments as well.
The college timing can go from 8:30 AM to 5:10PM.
The 75% attendance is kind of doable and maintainable to an extent.

Placement Experience:

about 70 to 80 percent of the students get placed afdter the colleg and the ones not placed also gets placed after the college with high network and communication from other contacts within the college, ZOHO Corp does take placements and i am preparing for my CAT exams as i am planning for My highers at IIM, 5th semester is when the students become eligible for the campus placements and the seniors are a good connection who help to get places and get a job after the completion of degree.

Nothing much but have got some friends you fall into this pit exactl like me

Dislikes

Hostel , mess food and mess hall , no facilities for marine practical

Course Curriculum Overview:

Teaching methods of marine faculties are excellent but in my course they add some additional subject like tamil and hindi which are useless and no neede for a mariner as the marine faculties are good in teaching and explaining but they also having difficulty in teaching as the requirements didn't meet from the college management

I had applied for Bsc Psychology in Women's Christian college, Stella Maris, Madras school of social work and Presidency college.I got into all the colleges i had applied for but WCC was the first to relase its admission reults plus WCC is popular for Psychology in Chennai. so when i got in i Joined immediately. I didn't opt for Stella because it was strict about the dress code even when went for provisional admission process. Madras School for social work and presidency came in very late and by then i had already got adapted to WCC so i did not join MSSW or Presidency. so for all these colleges, I had to submit my application form with my 12th mark sheet and other documents, there was no entrance test or interview. overall the admission process was completely online so it was hassle free. after the application is accepted, the students have to go to the college for document verfication within the given time slot and following that the staff will give information about when college starts and all....Read More

Women of WCC

I applied to Madras Christian College and Mount Carmel, Bangalore. And I got admission in both of them. But WCC had already opened by the time and I really liked the atmosphere of the college and its faculties. So I chose to stay. The admission process for WCC is completely online. The admission is purely merit based. There are no cutoffs but higher marks are preferred. (12 Standars marks) . There are no exams for UG admission. I had applied at Madras School of Social Work for Bachelors in Psychology and also at Women's Christian College for Bachelor's in Computer Science. I opted out of the Psychology course since it was my second choice if incase, Information Technology did not work out. For the Computer Science course, I did not get it because I missed the mark cut off for that course. WOMEN"S CHRISTIAN COLLEGE <3

I applied to Women's Christian College as it does not have a Co-education system and is an all-girls college, one other reason that I chose WCC is that it has quite a good reputation in Chennai and Tamilnadu. This college also has good placement opportunities and the course I wanted was only available in this college. The admission process was quite smooth and the selection process did not take a long time as well, quick responses and processes were finished . the eligibility for my course usually requires mathematics in 11th and 12 but in my college, even computer applications and English students can apply if the core aggregate is high.
