GITAM. A GOOD CHOICE?

Due to the new education policy we were introduced to liberal education which for me was not a good experience because i have no interest in subjects from science or humanities but still as it was a part of curriculum i was forced to study it in the 1st semester. The 2nd semester we were supposed to choose our minors and majors and now our curriculum has become more in detail with our course and now it feels easy.

The students studying in the 4th sem(2nd year) are supposed to do internships as a mandate and then they are eligible for placements. There are many companies which come here for placements like Adobe, aditya birla, tata, mahindra , amazon etc The avg package is 600000 and the highest package is 1.2 cr according to my knowledge.

1st year 259000 2nd year 266000 3rd year 270000 There is scholarship in the college on the basis of GITAM APTITUDE TEST(GAT).The percentage of scholarships are: 15%;25%;45%;60%;75%;100%. You are supposed to give the exam and the scholarship will be awarded on the basis of you scores. The total number of marks is 200. There is another scholarship which is NEED BASIS. In this if the combined annual income of both the parents should be below 12 lpa. Then you are eligible for the need basis scholarship.

The college has a fest called Shore which is the biggest fest of south india. It is generally held in the 1st week of jan. Then there is GEM fest completely organised by the Gitam school of business and it is also one of the major fests of Gitam. For sports the infrastructure is very good. There are proper coaches for various sports like cricket,football,basketball, volleyball,badminton etc and they conduct various tournaments both in and outside college.

I had applied for colleges in Maharashtra and had given their entrance exam(CET) but as their admission process was taking a lot of time to start i was forced to take up colleges in vizag itself so that i do not waste the year. The admission process was very smooth for me in GITAM the staff was very helpful and did not let me face any troubles. They take their own entrance exam called GITAM APTITUDE TEST and on the basis of its score..they provide you woth scholarships.

The faculties which i have for my course are very friendly and approachable. They all have PHDs in their respective fields and also have 15 to 20 years plus teaching experience. The faculty whom i like the most is our UG chair. She has been very helpfull to me from the start of the course and i am sure other students would also agree with me.

The gym here is top notch and has various equipments they also have gym trainers who are there to assist you. There are various cafes and public areas where students and faculty go and sit and unwind their day. The campus is very safe and gaurded by security staff 24×7.
