Course Curriculum Overview

3

Course syllabus is very old, they dont even teach new technologies like Javascript, FullStack. They still use the oldest compilers available and force students to use those too or give 0 number in practical. therefore 0 preparation for real world technologies and Experience. exam frequency is good, 20marks paper after 3 months and 80marks final paper at end of semester.

Internships Opportunities

5

Our university do provides the internship opportunities, including internships from MNC and even startups. Average package of internships goes upto 8,000/- and placement staff is very helpful too. Within university, students have freedom to create research papers under the guidance of their professors.

Placement Experience

4

Placements are good according to the fees they charge for the entire course. They also provide Internship opportunities. The average package is 4.5lakhs and goes upto 8lakhs which is good for the fees they charge.

Fees and Financial Aid

Detailed fee structure of Btech (CSE) is around 80k every even semester and around 60k every odd semester, costing around 1.4Lakhs per annum and 6Lakhs for entire 4-year course. Average package is 4.5Lakhs which means whole course fees can be covered within an year therefore fee structure is justified. There are no other lab or security fees, the fee structure is made accordingly that it's inclusive of all fees. Because there is no scholarship mechanism, fees of my batchmates are same given they are from general category, SC/STs are given some exemptions from semesterly fees.

Campus Life

5

The only best thing about the University is it's campus life, the entire University maintains that peaceful environment, most of sports are present and are not overlooked. social groups, clubs, students-lead festivals all make the campus life best.

Admission

I wanted to stay in home city while pursuing Btech due to family business, and i must say, according to all the colleges present in Amritsar, GNDU is considered best. I haven't even tried applying anywhere else.

Faculty

1

Faculty staff not give a shit about students, they are present most of times in university but dont come to classes, faculty-to-student ratio is good but what matters is do they even come for teaching and the ans is no, very less teachers present who's teaching methods are upto mark. Overall experience: worst, won't recommend to someone who really wish to learn something and rely only on university studies.

Night Life

4

I have never seen the night life in my college but according to my hostel mates, the night life there is pretty good, students daily do some activities at a specific meetup point. Hostel timings are 5AM-10PM, out of those time periods, students are not allowed inside.

The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
