Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure is pretty out dated although they have all the big and new names in the courses but syllabus is only old style which is basically cramming if you are good at cramming you will score good cgpa and you will be happy don't know whether do you get a job with that or not. To improve the curriculum coding must be added from the 1st sem itself and the more practical knowledge should be given. The exams are conducted around at 1.5 months gap which helps you prepare for your final exams really really well. Exams are not that tough if you are good cramming

Internships Opportunities

4

I am in 2nd sem so don't know much But you can get jobs from 3rd years and stipend and internships are present from 1st year itself but none of my friends has got them so can't tell much but for placements and internships it's a decent college if you will scire well which is not that tough as the crowd is rotten here

Placement Experience

3

From sem 6 students are eligible to sit in placements in btech degree. Over-all the placements are pretty okeish if you will study well you can surely get 10 lpa and tbh studying well in this college is not that tough as the crowd is not that good. But 6 lpa is the average at cgc coe btech cse.

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 130000 fees per annum and 535000 over the period of 4 years Additionally there are some exam fees and fest fees around 15000 per annum You can get it for 42000 per annum if you will.get this college out of ptu counselling

Campus Life

4

My overall experience is decent. I suggest you to study and get to Tier 1 college But if you are sure you are going in t-3 college then my college is not bad at this fees. But if you can afford you should consider options like chitkara and vit etc. Library has all the necessary books but you won't get much books which are not related to your exams stuff Facilities are average. Computer labs are average Sports system is good if you are already a player in some sports then it is good but if you want to focus on sports you haven't played then sorry there is not scope but experienced players are most welcomed. Some of my seniors has been sold at 4lpa in cricket teams. I am myself in university chess team Clubs and social groups and student portals are average. They can't affect your life unless you want them to affect

Admission

I chosed this college as my backup option but i did got selected in the other applied colleges but fees of them was 15 lakhs so I had to leave them. The admission process of this college is super simple for cse course you must score 75% in class 12th and you are set to pay your fees and get admission in this college. But if you will apply through the ikgptu kapurthala than you can get confession in fees.

Faculty

4

Some of the faculties are really top both. Specially the experienced faculties are very very high quality but less experienced faculties are not that smart enough to explain the teachers are very very knowledgeable but less experienced. There are 3 exams Mst 1 mst 2 endsems the level of exams varies but when they feel they need to pass the students exams are really silly at those points otherwise the exams are pretty low quality if you have studied well for competitive exams anytime in your life

Night Life

3

The campus is not big so not much hangout spots but you can hangout in entire college which is really good. The night life is absolutely 0. Which is a positive thing For females hostels are closed at 7:30 pm and for boys it's till 11 pm which is followed all around the world but being a feminist it feels little patriarchal to me. The cafeterias and food corner are decent not high priced but taste wise I found them average. Gyms are included but I never use them so I can't tell much about them but I have heard they are decent. Hostels have only common washrooms

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
