Likes

The placement history of college. The batch of 2023 in computer science had 100 percentage placement.
The cultural fest conducted in our college is top tier.
The teaching faculties are helping and approachful.

Dislikes

The course curriculum is a bit irrelevant.
The college compound is small and theres no much space for sports grounds.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is a bit outdated. The students are required to learn and master courses and skills outside of their curriculum to get placements at good companies. The curriculum can be made some more placement oriented and real life applications. For each semester there is a corresponding semester exam which is of moderate level.

Class Size: 67Course Fees: INR 58000 per year

Internships Opportunities

The companies that provide internships include Tata Elxsi,Quest Global,Dell etc. Most of the companies visited are IT related. The companies conduct aptitude test and interviews. The internships provide good stipends too.

Placement Experience

From 6th semester students became eligible for placements. Some of the companies visited include Tata Elxsi,Quest Global,Speridian etc.The average pacakge is 6 lpa and highest is 8 lpa. From Cs department most of the students get placed in IT companies.I plan to get a placement on a good company.

Fees and Financial Aid

For general quota the fees is 58000 per annum. For management the fees is 89000 per annum. For SC/ST students it is 15,000 per annum. The fees amount increased than last year. The caution fees is 10000.Financially backward students has gotten scholarships.

Campus Life

My college conducts many technical fests. The college also has a yearly cultural fest called 'Cult a Way'.We have a basketball court here and competitions for sports like badminton, football are held.We also have many sports club and groups. Our college offers many good platforms for extracurricular activities.

Admission

I choose this college since this is the best college i could get into with my rank. The college has good placement history in CS department. The college admission criteria is on the basis of KEAM rank. The highest rank holders in our college are from CS department.

Faculty

The faculties are good. The tecaging quality varies from teacher to teacher .Some are really good at making us understand concepts. For each semester 2 series exams are conducted and one semester exam is conducted for each sem.The exams are of moderate level. The course curriculum is a bit outdated.

Night Life

The students are allowed to stay on college campus till 7 pm.The college has a huge library and has different sections for each branches. There is one main canteen and one mini canteen. The college is situated near the roadside. There are good bakeries and restaurants near the college.

All the teachers are well qualified and equipped to teach but the quality of teaching differs as per individual.

Dislikes

The say of students in matters concerning them or others is nil. We have very little say as the management takes all decisons.
Teachers have ego and superiority issues between themselves which might affect the children in 4th year, project phases.
Fests, events and functions are not upto any expectations.Schools in trivandrum have better events than our college.

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible from 7th semester to sit for interviews. The pod.ai app helps us in making the resume and calculating a cgpa to appear for the intwrviews. The pod.ai registration fees is 500?. Companies such as nissan, infosys, commandtech, bimlabs, gulfasia etc has visited . And the highest package was 11 LPA and lowest was 3 LPA

TIST , Great college , fun events and more

Likes

Our seniors passed out with flying colors joining different companies or starting their own. There's a good focus on peer learning and student communities which is pretty nice. Canteen food is decent and labs are great
Most people and professors are friendly and they encourage you to try out new things.

Dislikes

Hostel water , busses are pretty fast. Sometimes roads are a bitt rough

Course Curriculum Overview:

Course curriculum is under KTU syllubus do it's fine. There is a change in curriculum coming 2024 which i assume would make a lot of good changes. The curriculum gives you a head start For most of your work, you need to on your own but the faculty is there to help. The frequency of exams is weekly tests + monthly exams. Its not too difficult of an exam.

I feel like staffs in my department are pretty good, atleast they fullfill their duties to cover the portions in right time
We have placements training, offered free of cost by college itself
Notes and necessary materials for studying are provided from college itself, and most teachers don't force on buying textbooks or other materials

Dislikes

College is located in aarakunnam, which is a bit remote area hence for various needs we often need to travel a few kilometres even for basic necessities
The road to collage entrance is a steep road, and currently it's under construction (it's been a yr)
Students are required to park their vehicles outside the college, as there is no parking facilities for students inside campus

Placement Experience:

Currently placements are bit low, due to inflation, but compared to other colleges like KMEA, etc we have better placements similar to Muthoot and all. We have placement training, and other supports which can help us crack aptitude exams and prepare for placements Almost 70-80% students are placed every year, with an avg package of 4LPA

When it comes to the campus life, I enjoyed all the 4 years
The infrastructure was okayish Could've improved.
The faculty was really friendly and I was able to approach them without any hesitation.

Dislikes

The road from the junction to the college is not at all maintained. Students coming up the hill find it very difficult to reach college
The bus fees are increased every year. But these people can't find a way to provide seats for the students after paying their bus fee.
Some other campus offer many varieties of food in their canteen. This has to be done here too

Placement Experience:

The students usually start appearing for campus placements in their 6th semester. The training for the campus placements is started for all the students from the 4th semester. Many companies visited for campus placements. But one main problem is that most of them were low packages. Around 4LPA. Some were between 4-6 and a very few between 6-10. Most of them got placed in our batch in some company.

An honest college review

I choose this college because it has vibrant campus life and freedom. It also has good placement records, good pass percentage. I also took due to distance advantage. This college also has good faculty, teaching. Although the campus is small, the infrastructure is well maintained. It has well structured labs.I also looked for cet, Trivandrum but I didn't get it because of my keam rank. The exam accepted for the course is keam and most of the students prefer it. Students can also join this college by nri quota without any entrance exam by giving more fees.I got admission in ece in sctce in the keam 1st allotment itself....Read More

A look inside Sct - Campus life, Academics and more

The main reason I chose this college was because this as under the Government of Kerala. It is held jointly by both government and ksrtc. This the standard of teachers will be better than other private colleges and campus life would be better as well. I have gotten confirmed admission from Amritha University and FISAT. I chose Sct because of the above given reason and also because of its location in trivandrum. I had applied to both Cet and Gect but I didn't pass the cutoff. The admission price for SCTCE is through KEAM which is held by the government of Kerala. If you have a valid rank you can apply to any college and can get selected according to the ranklist....Read More
