Course Curriculum Overview
Bachelor of Commerce in Finance major is not an easy course. Practical questions are a problem which I believe the students need to improve on. And classrooms should be more so that students can be divided into a fairly amount so that the students as well as the teachers can cooperate.
Internships Opportunities
AICTE internships and many other internships from various companies including MSME are available which I believe is a wonderful opportunity for the students to experience and explore. Students are given internship time during the summer holidays to fulfill the internship needs of a student.
Fees and Financial Aid
Admission fee costed around 9 thousand and semester fees was different for each semester. Second semester fees was around 4000 and third semester was around 4500 including examination fees, practical fees and centre fees.
Campus Life
Festivals including college week and freshers meet program is a big program the college usually helps once a year. It is a busy program that allows the students to make new friends and socialise and adapt to the college environment. The library has good infrastructure however some of the classrooms needs improvement in installation of new AC in summer due to the hot weather.
Admission
Gauhati commerce college wasn't my first choice at the first place. I applied for admission in Gauhati University which I got through but I couldn't take admission due to many reasons and this was the moment I decided to try in Gauhati Commerce College. I got admission through a spot admission process because I was a bit late for the admission. It was a tough experience but I made it through
Faculty
The department cares a lot about the students. The teachers take importance on the teachers needs and questions. But a small problem exists which is using non-English language for teaching which should be excluded during classes
Night Life
The nightlife around campus is great. Many foodstalls are located near college campus which allows many students including outsiders to roam and explore the area. The hostel needs a lot to improve starting from infrastructure, hygiene and the food that is served
