Teachers are friendly and lenient. Campus has places to relax
There is no need to have 75 percentage of attendance

Dislikes

Infrastructure could be improved like the rooms desks benches etc

Course Curriculum Overview

The course is ok. I believe some of the things will not help you with real world applications but will give a range of informations. The teaching methods of some faculty are and some not that good. Exams are well timed and pretty difficult.

Class Size: 100Course Fees: INR 5000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

I am paying 5k as yearly fees and there are other fees like exam fees which varies but is between 1k and 2k. Scholarships are available for students. They get 50k per year. Other miscellaneous expenses are also included in the yearly fees.

Campus Life

The infrastructure is very good in some rooms and not that good in others. It is an old building so it needs improvement of infrastructure. There are many activities and festivals held and students can have a relaxing time.

Admission

I did not apply for any other colleges as i wanted to enroll in this college itself. I heard this college was good for commerce and therefore i chose this college over others. One can take admission with the marks obtained in the 12th standard.

Faculty

The faculties are very approachable. They help students when they have any queries regarding any study related issues or project work. But also there are some faculties that are not liked by students, who are unnecessarily harsh on students.

Night Life

The nightlife is pretty good around the college. There are many eateries near the campus. Also there are gyms, cafeterias, places to hang out with friends etc. The locality is safe for boys and girls as there are a lot of people out during the evening.

Gauhati University: A Students perspective.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This is an integrated course where i will be getting a masters degree after completing 5 years. Only tezpur university provides this course other than GU. The curriculum prepares students mainly to pursue careers in academic fields and research fields. More practical aspects can be added to provide a holistic knowledge to the students. The exams are very well planed.

Admission:

Present the documents along with photocopies after scoring the qualifying marks and post that the college authorities will give you an acknowledgment slip which confirms your admission in the college and can also be used as the College ID until you receive the actual college ID.

I applied to a lot of other colleges but those were all backup for me if I didn't get admission here . I applied in dispur college , kc das commerce college , guwahati college etc . We are admitted to colleges here using the samarth website. There are two merit lists provided by each college in the samarth website. I wasn't selected in the 1st merit list in gcc which ofcourse scared me a bit , but I got my names in the other previously mentioned colleges but I wanted to wait for the second merit list for which I had to hear a lot like what if I didn't even get my name on the second list of gcc . But I was sure I would get because my percentage was just 0.4% short from the cut off of the last merit list . I wanted this college because of emotional attachments + gcc has one of the best merits among all the commerce colleges in the entire northeast . Even this year in the toppers list published by gauhati university, 9 out of 10 students were from Gcc itself...Read More
