Course Curriculum Overview

3

Frankly speaking i had no intentions to choose this particular course as i had so much love for zoology but I had to due to the peer pressure of society. It had a good infulence on me as i knew abou civil engineering and other aspects of building the world. Just like doctors put there lot of time in hospital and practice on body same such be done to this feild we should more and more would in feild then classes. Talking about examination they are good but engineers are not that much involved in there studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yearly i used to pay 80,000 including hostel excluding mess likewise tution fees was 60,000/year plus 20,000 for hostel fee but during the time of admission i deposited 6000 for admission fee. Examination fee was submitted semester wise as 700 rupees. Some of my batchmates had a scholarship named as ''PMSSS'' with they that had to pay only hostel fee & mess.

Campus Life

3

There were some annual and technical festivals, which were held in our college namely ''TAKSHEK'' which was organised by our class senoirs. we uesd to go to libraries to read and write about particular aspect of life and nature. we used to take part in a freshers party where newcomers of the particular branches were chossed to get Mr & Mrs fresher. Students also took part in football matches and cricket matches.

Hostel Facilities

4

The room we used to stay in was 149, 4th floor north campus. Food was nice and mostly good but on thursdays we didn't liked food at all. Registration process for hostel is simple as we had to tell during admission time and if if non hosteler had to join then he had to ask the warden for the particular process. Most of the student were rented in banur housefeds.

Admission

I had to choose it because i had not other option it has good infrastuture and most of all a nice and affordable fee stucture. Eligiblity was you should be have done 10+2 in Non medical background that's it.

Faculty

4

Faculty members were nice and had a good knowledge of their subjects . If i had to choose one faculty member it who was good with his teaching skill would be " Robin sir" who used to teach us fluid meachnics and stuctural analysis. Nobody was bad to be honest but they could have done better for mathematics faculty. Particularly there were 2 mid sessions and a semester examination each 6 months but most of the students used to fail in 2 mid sessions so the used to get a last chance in 3rd session term otherwise they were detained from the semester examination.

Night Life

3

Boys ysed to go to gym at 5 pm every & so student used to play cricket and football during evening time. Hostel was to be honest best part of our coolege days. mostly we used to hangout in college ground & play football under lights.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

As i have opted the course B.Pharmacy! I rate the course as optimal, neither too bad nor too good, its medium! Now comes on teaching method, some teachers are really well and good and few are those who does not teaches but only writing writing, thats it, they will not explain at all! And one thing they should change is that All Courses except B.Pharmacy in Chandigarh University have the criteria to pass the student even below the 40% only or the half of the highest number scored by the topper in the class, and for Bpharmacy its minimum requirement to pass the exam is 50%, Oh My God! This needs to be changed, Now every year, in Bpharmacy, the overall 80% students are getting Compartments (Back/Fail) in the subjects, but the University is not understanding it all. So this should be changed as earlier!

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
