ILS Law College - One of the best college of India

Course curriculum at present complies with SPPU University, and it is currently old pattern based and not updated. New laws are not included in core subjects. Law subjects start from 3rd year which gets very late. Mere course completion is not enough for any law student, it is recommended that you take additional courses during the whole course such as certificate courses.

ILS Pune has decent placements. Companies that visit campus for placements are as follows - AZB & Partner, Trilegal, Khaitan & co, ICICI bank, HDFC bank, DSK legal, bharucha and partners, Crawford bayley and Co. etc. Approximately 120-130 students sit for placements each year and 50& of them get placed each year. Students become eligible for placements in 9th semester, 5th year Highest package - 22 LPA given by Trilegal Average package - 12 LPA I plan to pursue litigation in Delhi and not sit for corporate placements

Campus live at ILS pune is very engaging and vibrant, there are so many competitions and fest held all around the year. Fests at ILS Pune - 1. Legalease - Annual 5 day fest of ILS pune. Has lot of singing and dancing competitons along with fashion show, etc. It happens in Febuary. 2. Aikyam - this fest focuses on legal aid as theme, and holds dramas, recitals, drives etc. It is held in november usually. 3. Kreedangan - It is the sports fest organised on state level. Happens in January. Library of ILS Pune is one of the biggest libraries in pune and has a ton of books. It has 3 floors with computer labs, braile printers and other accessiblities such as wifi etc. We have a lot of online research databases such as scc online, manupatra, westlaw, heinonline, etc provided through MyLOFt platform for our research purposes. Classes are non AC classrooms, but they are equipped with ICT facilites with projector and mic systems. Conference halls is amazing with all facilities including AC. There are many student run cells and centres on Campus such as - 1. Moot court society 2. Placement and internship cell 3. Centre for commercial laws 4. centre of criminal laws 5. environment law cell 6. debsoc 7. quiz commitee 8. ILS history club etc.

ILS law college is a great college with established history of more than 100 years. It has great alumni base, good placements, beautiful campus and affordable fee structure. I appeared for clat but I could not get any NLU. I believe my preparation lagged in some aspects of practice. I got accepted in Symbiosis Law college Pune. Comparison of SLS Pune and ILS Pune - 1. fees - ILS total fees - 204000 SLS total fees - 2000000 2. ILS has better alumni and long term history 3. ILS has better and bigger campus than SLS 4. SLS has better placements than ILS. 5. ILS has better campus life than SLS. Other than SLS pune, I got admitted in Nirma college of Law and Army institute of Mohali. I chose ILS Pune over them because of the overall exposure that the college provided my and fees structure that better suited to my needs. Admission process of ILS Pune is through MHCET exam Once you clear it, you appear for counselling rounds, and give your preference of universities. Then according to your rank the college is alloted, you can lock it or put for upgradation. One that is done, you visit college for offline admission and payment of fees to become a student of that college.

Faculty is a mix of permanent and visiting faculties, overall we have great faculties. faculty to student ratio is 1:60 for each class. Faculty is very helpful in academic and non academic aspects. There are 2 types of exams - 1 mid term exam - 1 internal exam + 1 viva = 20 marks 1 external exam - subjective manner and 80 marks exams are easy but difficult to score as SPPU examiners checks the exam copies. Most of the students pass and exams should be made application based in my opinion.

ILS Pune is situated inside the city hence the connectivity with the city is amazing. Lots of things are there to do after classes. Pune has lot of opportunites to learn and have fun plus as a city it is super safe. There is one canteen in college, but outside3 college there is starbucks, coffee nation, eatclub food court and a lot of other eatries. Golds gym is nearby walking distance apart from the college provided gym. College has inbuilt swimming pool as well for students. Hostel timings - return to hostel by 9 PM, after that permission needs to be taken from warden. Locality is very safe for students.
