Government Engineering College, Thrissur is deemed to be the 3rd best engineering colleges in the state only behind National Institute Of Technology, Calicut (obviously) and the College Of Engineering, Trivandrum. That reputation certainly helps when it comes to placements. Every year, around 300 out of the 540 final year students get placed in reputed companies. Most of the placements are in the IT sector. Core company placements are much lesser in number, accounting to less than only 10% of total placements.

There are lot of events like cultural, technical, sports and religious festivals are conducted and celebrated during an academic year.Dyuthi, annually conducted by GEC Thrissur is a technical cultural extravaganza; an unrivaled confluence of the best fragments from all around. A flaming gala of diverse talents, exhibits and infotainment, it’s an ever evolving stage of ultimate splendour where masses are bound to gather each year.

Our alumnies are in many top positions in multi national companies and various research organizations like BARC, NTPC, DRDO, ISRO, IOC ……

Faculty members are superb, there is no doubt in at all. They take classes in the slots given to them with punctuality. The course plan which is given by the central govt. is followed. The faculty follows each and every point given in the curriculum. The faculty teaches like a god and take cares of the students with an amazing nature.

Upon reaching s7 students are invited for campus placement but they have to pass different criteria to become eligible for attending the interview, a minimum cgpa of 7.5 and academic skills a these are the basic requirements and an aptitude test will be given and in further selection these criteria are looked. I plan on pursuing a job after completing by btech. More than half the students in a batch are getting placed usually.
