Likes

I liked my college infrastructure how they made and it's very likable by students.
I also like hostel food and they keep changing the mess menu so one can manage everything easily.
I like the cleanliness and the rules in my college . There are dustbins in every 20meters .

Dislikes

In fest my college they seperate boys and girls in a concert.
The bus system is also I disliked because of the timings
And there are so much strictness on girls of we compare to boys

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is somehow good. We have to chose elective subject in every sem and after that the sections are divided. So in my opinion it is a good thing. Exam timing is 3 hrs for in which the paper is medium level

Internships Opportunities

Talking about internships in my college student can fo internships in every course that should not but in my college I off computer science and their in now I am in 3rd year and I will be eligible for doing internships because the call you will give me NOC.

Placement Experience

Form 5th semester a. Student is allowed to do internships. College give noc to student if they are doing internship in their field of course. And achieving a monthly stipend of 30000. Overall it is a great decision.

Fees and Financial Aid

My fees for per sem is 1,20,000 and if we talk about hostel it was around 1,48,000. And if we talk about scholarships I got my 50% scholarship in first year and to maintain that scholarship a student need to score more than 7.5 cgpa .

Campus Life

Campus Life in chandigarh university is so good. There are places to hangout with friends and no one cares about anything the campus is open till 10pm and we can chill with friends where we want to and it's a good thing

Hostel Facilities

There are 10 boys hostel and all are neat and clean . Maid come daily to clean and vapes , drugs, and other items are ban in hostel permissis. Overall it's a good experience to be in the hostel to make memories.

Hostel Fee: INR 150000 per year

Admission

I Applied in lovely professional University but due to infrastructure and the place I chose Chandigarh University over lovely professional University. And also the ranking. Of the Chandigarh University was better than lovely professional University

Faculty

Faculty is good and if we talk about marking system there is relative marking in this the marks of the topper will decide the passing marks and criteria for passing the exam. The ratio of faculty to student in my opinion is around 1:60

Night Life

Our college is in kharar which is around 40min from Chandigarh. It is in village so it is so silent in night but with security. Overall one can easily sneak out on his own risk but it will be great to move out in night.

Exploring life at Chandigarh University

Likes

Good and modern campus infrastructure. The university is large, modern with good classrooms, labs, hostels and tec.
Most teachers are knowledgeable, supportive and explain concepts clearly.
The university provides placement drives, training sessions, career guidance and etc.

Dislikes

Large student intake. Due to high number of students, sometimes it can be difficult to get individual attention from faculty.
During peak hours, some areas of the campus can be crowded.
The quality of hostel food is not much satisfying.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Chandigarh University are generally good, with students becoming eligible for campus placements in the later semesters, dependiing on their course. Many companies visit the campus for recruitment, offering roles in IT, engineering, management and other fields. The packages vary by company and profile with some students receiving high packages while others get average entry-level offers. Placement opportunities depend on student skills, academic performance and interview preparation. After completing my degree, I plan to secure a good job in my field, gain practical experience and continue developing my technical and professional skills.

Likes

The most appreciated aspect was the quality of teaching in classroom. There were structured planning for studies and exam preparations.
The campus was peaceful and the college celebrated every cultural event very enthusiatically covering interest of students belonging from various traditional backgrounds across India.
There was wide spread interest both from students and faculty side for promoting extra cirricular activites and talent.

Dislikes

The way a student raises a complain can be improved.
To allot extra hours for extra acirricular activites.

Placement Experience:

Placements are great for tech and core domains. Alomost every students gets to sit in placement following the eligibilty critera. Many students get double placed and there is a placement policy which allows fare chances of placement to every student.

supportive campus environment with the comfortable in the classess
faculty most faculty members are very much supportive and they guide the students in the right way only
events are there in the campus provided by the campus.

Dislikes

limited practical exposure is provided by the campus and also there should be more hand on international events

Placement cell provides opportunities but the stronger industry connections.

placements at my college are very very good, as everybody gets the chance to sit for the placements at the same level. we get the placement oportunities at the 6th semster also. in my brancg it is very good

class size can be large , it helps every child to interact
academic work is quite high , the schedule may feel hectic especially during examination

There are 1 AC Lecture complex()LT with almost a seating capacity of 100-120 students, with smart screens and projector.
NITJ has well maintained 4 Girls hostel and 4-5 boys hostels with proper cleanliness and hostel staff.
They are 7 cafeterias in the Campus, including 3 Nescafe outlets,1 dominos and 3 regular canteens that serve food late night.

Dislikes

Wifi and connection issues in the hostels
Slow response to emails and late approval to applications
The ICE department faculty is quite strict. Tough grading system and administration.

Placement Experience:

NITJ has a placement cell, also known as the Centre of Training and Placements(TPO office of NITJ). The placement scenes differ depending on the courses offered. The average placements are 12-14LPA in the Computer Science branch. Every year, hundreds of companies, including Pvt and govt both. PSUs like HPCL and BPCL recruit students based on merit and academic excellence.

I like the most about the college the placement criteria and the way built your confidence
Also the hostel is very good and provide food 4 times
The campus explorer is also very nice according to me

Dislikes

Faculty is not soo well had a lit bit inconvenience
Hostel mess food is not good at some time
Placement is decent and average as like other collage

I like my couse btech with computer science because it has high change to geeting high paying jobs and to build a successful career with my opinion they can improve their faculty with higher education qualification

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.
