Remarks

The college is admitting student student at a rapid pace. They should set limited seats now as the strength is already more than 40k. It is situated in a remote village on Ludiana Kharar highway. Most people think that this college is in chandigarh but its incorrect. Its arojnd 25 km and a hour drive from chandigarh. The security gaurds are the biggest problem of this university. They treat the universiry like they own it.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculam was quite good. The course and the subjects are in respect to the increasing demand of technology. The combination of some easy and a but hard subjects per semester is quite good as the students do not have much load of studies. The exam structure is totally transparent. Two sessionals per semester and then internal exams after the completion of syllabus. The final exam are at the end of the semester. One cons of the course curriculam is that the semester period of College is roughly of 3.5 months. It should be more than atleast 4 months.

Placement Experience

4.5

The job and placement opportunities are very good. The university hosts around 500 companies every year for the placement drive and the placement record of univeristy is also excellent. I also got placed in a company(cant disclose the company name). I did not got any internship but other companies proviede internship for around 15k stipend.

College Events

3.5

The college celebrates various events. Most of the events are the Film promotion events by Punjabi and Bollywood Film Industry. Rest are the Freshers Party, CU fest, Tech Invent, Baisakhi, Diwali, Holi, Id. One week entertainment nights are also organised at the time of fresher students arrival in the college. Tashan Nights in association with 9xTashan is also organised multiple times in a year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure of the univeristy is quite feasible. The fee of a particular course and hostel fee, as compared to the fee structure of other colleges and universities is quite cheap. The main reason of the popularity of this college is due to less fee. The fee can be submitted through online, offline and draft mode.

Fees and Financial Aid

The university provide scholarship based on the marks of 12th standard. Jee mains and advanced score card. Also the college conducts its own entrance exam through which scholarship is offered. Sports and SC/ST scholarships are also there

Campus Life

3.5

The extra curricular activities are not much taken care of in this college. Students participate on there own and no interest about these activities is shown by the students. The labs are quite good. The sports grounds are also good. But swimming pool for swimmers is not taken into consideration anytime.

Hostel Facilities

3

I had opted for the hostel facility. The hostel atmosphere is quite good. All the facilities are there such as gym, cafeteria, medical emergency. The hostel infrastructure is not quite good. Most people dont know, but the rooms are for 3 people actually, but 4 people are made to stay. The food quality is also not good. And a lot of rsstrictions.

Alumni/Alumna

The seniors are helpful but any network of alumni is not there. The university does not organise any type of alumni association meet. The alumni's are also not seen coming to the university often. To contact the alumni the students have to use other social media tool.

Admission

I first got the advertisement brocure of the university. Then i inquired about the university online and ny word of mouth. Then i found out that the college has a city office in my place. I went to the office and asked about the whereabouts of the university. There i got to know about the course and fee structure and also the admission process. The proceas was very simple as i just had to pay 10k registration fee. After paying the fee, i got the prospectus and later on diposited the course fee through online mode. Went to the college for hostel accomodation facility and booked a room. After paying the hostel fee, i was admitted to the university

Faculty

2.5

The faculty of the the university is somewhat good. But the university management is the villian in case of teaching. The management implies there own decisions on the teacher. The main issue is that, the teacher specialised in a subject is most of the times given some other subject to teach. This also makes the faculty difficult to teach and makes the students more vulnerable towards faulty education.

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.
