Likes
- My Favorite part of the college is the college library which I really admire. It is a two storied building with multiple reading halls and a lot of books.
- Another thing that I admire is the college canteen which has adequate space for everyones sitting.
- Another thing i admire about the college is our conference hall, which is built in a state of the art manner.
Dislikes
- I dislike the Boys Washroom quality which is generally not clean.
- I Dislike the College WIFI which is close to non existing.
- I dislike the beauracratic behavior of non teaching staff which makes it difficult to conduct events.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Curriculum provided by the Delhi University is more so decent. However there are a lot of parts that could be upgraded according to the new developments. It is more to the professors, in how do they teach the subject which determines how practically the students are understanding. Also engaging class activities could make it make the teaching experience better.
Placement Experience
The Placements in my college are mostly limited to marketing, HR and basic level Finance Jobs. You could expect a Decent placement of 4-6 lacs in your last semester. In your previous semester you could apply for internships. However not everyone gets placed.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Deshbandhu college, like any other college of DU, is quite affordable and provides a good Return on investment. My total Tution Fees is Around 45000 for the total course and no other extra money is charged except the regular exam fees by Delhi university which is around 1500 per semester. The fees of other similar courses is in this range only except maybe a higher Charge for BSC courses due to lab requirements.
Campus Life
The college has a lot of socities with a decent amout of cultural exposure in a lot of activities. The sabrang is known as the annual event of Deshbandhu college with a lot of small society events happening throughout the year. Ranging from debate to drama, from music to dance.
Admission
I Basically apllied to the whole DU portal, there, it is a preference system, I placed the colleges of north campuses above Deshbandhu college and most of the tier three colleges below it. I also applied for universities like BHU and jamia but chose DU over them.
Faculty
My Commerce Department has a decent teaching staff with few teachers being really helpful while some being not, so it is more of a subjective thing. Other than that regular internals take place with class assignments, tests, presentations etc. It is generally easy to pass but difficult to maintain a CGPA Above 8.
Night Life
The Deshbandhu college is strictly closed at 6pm. However it being at the heart of Kalkaji has a lot of go to places where the main market of kalkaji is essential. Other than that Nehru place, lotus temple, Kalkaji Mandir are nearby places.
