Remarks

The college is good. It is one of the best college in Ranchi city with the facilities that it provides. Almost everything is good. Courses are good and the teachers are also good to an extent. The computer in old lab should be corrected.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's good. Almost all the required subjects are there like.net ,sql/plsql,c/c++, java, and some web development tools like js , PHP,css,html.but some new course subjects like machine learning ,android development,etcshould be added.

Placement Experience

The college doesn't provide any internship facility. The college has placement cell which helps the students to get placed in companies like SAP, Wipro, TCS, cognizant,Mahindra, etc. Every year many students get placed theses companies.

College Events

The college celebrates college fest every year. Different activities are held during the college fest. Students enjoy the fest. College also celebrates events like plantation day, Earth day, etc. Different departments organizers different events whole year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The fee structure is feasible but i think it's more than the facilities it provides. The fee could be low. And also every year fee gets hiked for no reason. But students can avail scholarship schemes so it's not that big deal.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college does not provide any scholarship of its own but it does have a scholarship department which helps in getting the scholarship from jarkhand state govt. The name of the scholarship scheme is e Kalyan.

Campus Life

The college has good labs. It also has a gymnasium, 2 canteens and 2 small shops. All are good. One canteen has sports room combined with it where one can play carrom, table tennis,chess and pool. The college also has a basketball court, volleyball court and a ground for football, hockey and cricket. Each year different sports are organised and the winners are provided with certificate , medals and a trophy.

Alumni/Alumna

Well the alumni and senior students can be reached through Facebook and WhatsApp. The teachers of their respective departments make WhatsApp group for the students passing for the particular year. Students can easily communicate with them.

Admission

I appeared for the entrance exam. After the exam i was selected for interview process. Then i appeared for interview. The interview was basically about what i have studied in my previous class. After the interview i got selected for admission in the final list. And then i took the admission

Faculties are good to an extent but they don't know about the latest trends. However some teachers are updated with the latest development tools. All faculties are post graduate. They provide good assistance to the students

At the starting phase of college , we have a beautiful campus (which is not ours actually , its on rent ) loacted at Namkum, Ranchi. known as JUT campus, but after that things are not good.
Some what I liked the sports culture, but we don't have any sports Club yet.

Dislikes

Placements(actually there are students who are the coordinators for the placement group , there is no any particular advisor or any TPO head is there earlier...now there is one TPO coordinator but things are becoming worst there.
No grounds for any sports, we don't have badminton court indoors, so we have to wait for wind to settle before we can play outside.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Actually my branch is Electronics and communication engineering but my major interest lies in development area , i have gained all the skills in my college by my own taking some guidance from the seniors as they are very helpful and supporting. Improvements in course curriculum could be like they have to basically add one more course or any training program to help students for making skills and teaching them for their placements.(apart of the course , i am saying not because i am from ECE department , its common from any branch student)

Likes

I like their rules and regulation of college.
I like the annual sports, event, and cultural program.
Regular classes, labs, and time to time internal exams

Dislikes

Thing that I don't like is hostal cleaning, mesh food.
I think there is more rules and regulation for senior boys hostels.
From senior boys hostel they pass some comment to the girls

The curriculum that influenced my decision to choose this course is the proper mindset from the class I chose to study btech. The areas for improvement in the course curriculum are more labs to be conducted proper smart classes to be held.

Likes

the greenery of college campus is very nice
the environment of the college is very good
college library staffs are very well behaved

Dislikes

the faculty is not up to the mark , u will not be satisfied by their teaching
student intake is very very less so you will experience less competition
the college campus is beautiful yet very small

Placement Experience:

yes campus placement is offered . the average package is about 7 to 8 lakhs in C.S.E , the placement rate is about 90% for which above 7.5 CGPA is required . The placement rate for E.C.E and E.E.E are also decent .

College and my life as different aspects

Likes

The cleaness and the professor of the college and the campus
College has provided different uniform for the different departments
All departments have their own class and building all the labs are provided their for practical

Dislikes

College didn't have a proper regulation for all departments
College didn't conduct class every day or it didn't have a proper schedule and students are also not interested in classes
I think college have to provide scholarship for all categories and same for all the departments

Course Curriculum Overview:

The professor of the college aree well qualified but the regulations are very low the teaching process is good but the classes are not continuous and the students are not interested their are very less department which hav their proper schedule and in my major paper class are only proper but the AEC papers and minor paper never conducts a single class for students

The current mode of our curriculum is CBME based that is competency based which has lessen the quantity of syllabus of mbbs course . This made the work of professors easy and the we as a students easily understand any topic and is easy for us in exam too .

Experience of an undergrad

Likes

college have great environment good facilities needed as per requirements ,college also have good spacious hostels and we can say better food comparing to what i heard from friends of different colleges ,the evening time is soothing and relaxing
a great senior junior interaction culture and memorable friendships letting you forget the world outside the campus, every festivals are celebrated with joy and fun ,from leaving a family to moving to another one you would love.
some of lectures are quite boring but some will amaze you with visionary thoughts ,every faculty will guide you if they see you lagging behind the course ,some extra sessions are also conducted, introducing new fields to think out of the box

Dislikes

things which i wish might get some improvements are sports facilities big grounds for sports activities students encouragement towards co-curricular activitiy, co-curricular activities get more support to come out with glorious and imagining skills.
fests do contain fun but due to time constraints before fests planning of amazing activities becomes difficult thus leading same things going on repeating, absence of good team leaders leading activities plays major role in activity failure and bored
night out time is a small problem, the area close to college is developing hence not having nearby much places for fun and chillouts spending your free time relaxing.

Placement Experience:

The placements in the college is average as during 2023-24 it was recession period all over the colleges are facing placements lags but still college students managed to achieve 22 lakhs+ off campus as well as 16 lakhs on campus placement.The college reached his highest placement of 51 lakh during 2023 ,the average package is 5-6 lakh and the placements percentage are 85 percent for cse students,the students completing 7th semester are eligible for on campus placement drive as well as off campus,some of the prominent companies visited are Microsoft, cognizant, samsung, byjus,infosys and 50 more.I will prepare for gate and after that i will try to get on and off campus placements which i will find better accept the offer.

Remarks:

The reason I chose this college was that it was considered the best private engineering college in Jharkhand. Also, it is located in a city where there are a lot of opportunities for an engineering student that is Jamshedpur, Ratan Tata's homeland. Also, the placement is better than the other private colleges. This year,the maximum package went upto 10 lakhs which is a good amount of money I guess.

I choose St. Xavier's College college over any other college because of it's name (brand) plus it does regular classes and completes it's syllabus on time compared to other colleges who doesn't provide regular classes and never completes their syllabus never on time is a different matter but the whole syllabus never gets covered and most of it is left out. The best collage in ranchi

I had applied for the Doctor Shyama Prasad Mukherjee University Ranchi. And i got selected there also but i found st xavier's college ranchi is better then that college as this is autonomous applied new education policy of fourth year graduation. I didn't get rejection as i had filled only this two college in ranchi for bachelor's degree.
