Remarks

All good remarks as I got many placements and I still admire my teachers and my classmates. A great chapter of life.

Entrance Preview

I didnt score fairly in IIT/AIEEE but I scored 400+ rank in Punjab CET which gave me the best college option as this one to pursue my dream of becoming an IT Engineer.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course curriculum is well in line with industry demands with focus on S/W industry trends and subjects. The Elective subjects like Real-Time Systems, Operating System , Automata Theory, Machine Language were quite helpful in getting the basics right.

Internships Opportunities

College gave change to do internship with Infosys etc which made it a great institution itself. Also gave numerous options to work with great companies. This is the best a student can get without getting into more hardships of self-finding.

Placement Experience

3

A lot of companies do visit but the number of students are very high as well which I think is only negative thing about the college. Seeing IT Giants like Deolitte, HP,Microsoft is normal here. The cream of students as well as mediocre students are both placed.

College Events

3

There was a cultural/Technical combined fest named Parivartan which was the only event held. There were little sport events like Gully Cricket also. Apart form this there were no real opportunities to explore. Freshers were greeted with an okay function.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure was on the higher side but was good considering the teachers and study material. Scholarships were an aid to very few people only. Being an average student was good take at this college with study and placements along with help from teachers.

Fees and Financial Aid

80% + in each semester students get Rs 50085% + 250090% + 5000 Also economincally weaker students got scholarships as well but in a few number. Good projects were given funding granted from World Bank.

Campus Life

4.5

1.15:1 in favour of girls. There institution had good anti-ragging rules and effectiveness in place. And the place was located in a safe area. Nearby Chandigarh was an added advantage as well. Gender ratio was excellent along with parties, workshops , diversity and tolerance was maintained due to strict rules.

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel and mess were good and nominal charges were there. Quality and hygiene were maintained and we as students if requested something, demands were heard and actions were taken. We never felt the need of adding more and more as all order was maintained.

Alumni/Alumna

We got help from the seniors and in contact passouts ho guided us during placements and students as well as in picking the college at first

Exam Structure

Exams were held after every 5 months i.e. twice an year and divided into total 8 semesters in 4 years. Had 5 to 6 subjects in each semester and 2 to 3 lab subjects. Curriculum was well distributed and help in aiding learning and help us grow with all the

Faculty

4.5

Faculty was well involved in teaching and getting the doubts clear. All in all the faculty was high grade and all teachers being atleast M.Tech was a plus. All the subjects were thoroughly covered and studying became a fun job with adequate time devoted t

Placement Experience:

Companies start coming summer internships in the 5th and 6th semester though ,CG cuts are imposed so very less students are elgible to sit for these companies, The real placement season is 7th and 8th semester and many companies visit campus for placements. around 60 percent students got placed in the recent placement drive. The major recruiters are: Oracle, CISCO, JPMC,Deloite,IBM,ZS etc.

Placement Experience:

Students generally become eligible for placement from 7th semester, with numerous major companies like wipro, cognizant and various tech startups visit the campus with various offers. The university sees a high percentage of students getting placed. The package are widely depending on various skill and codes. Furthermore while the highest package looks impressive on paper, the avg package remains modest for the majority of the batch. My personal plans after getting the degree focus on exploring independent entrepreneurial ventures rather than tradition corporate placement.

Placement Experience:

Placements are not that good. Although companies come, there is a lack of mass recruiters or reputed organizations. One has to grind hard here for placements. If you're a CS student, you will have to face immense competition here. As for core branches, placements are severely dry. Students gets eligible in 4th year onwards for placements. Some of recruiters here are Trident, TCS, Reliance, Sonalika and other few. Every company offers around 10-15 selected students for a job. Highest package ever was 15LPA and average is 3.2LPA. Percentage placed is only around 15% here. My plans after the degree are to apply for govt exams.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The interest in coding influenced me to choose this subject and course. The curriculum gets me ready for a 9-5 job which kind of gets hectic. The teachers could maybe schedule classes to give the students time to study what they want to and if they wish to do a course outside the university they have the time to do so rather than just going by the university curriculum
