A Successful Journey at PIET

The main reason which made me choose MCA at PIET is my cousin, beacuse he is a former MCA student at PIET and now he earns more than 1.5 lac per month while working from home, and for the first time, my decision is right. PIET's MCA curriculum includes Computing, Web Development, Data Analysis, and Machine Learning. And the best part is that PIET is an autonomous institute, which means the curriculum is flexible and updated as per the current industry standards.

Internships are mandatory at PIET, irrespective of which course you opt for. I'm in my second year and have completed two internships, one at a local IT firm and the second one at Chandigarh IT City. You don't have to pay extra for internships. They are provided by the Career Advancement Cell. The CAC has tie ups and collaborations with IT firms, and internships are further converted into full time jobs if you do well during the internship period.

As i said earlier, i chose PIET for placements because my cousin is doing well and earns a good amount of money while sitting comfortably at home. He got his first job through on campus placements. The training provided by the Career Advancement Cell helps us a lot to perform well during interviews. Especially the mock interview sessions; they give us the real experience of what an interview session looks like so that we are ready when our turn comes for the interview.

The fees are actually very low compared to the qaulity of education PIET offers. PIET's educational standards are approved by NAAC A accreditation, and for an institute that has these rankings and recoginitions, it is easy to increase the amount of fees. But, actually, the fee structure is not that high, so a middle class student can get a world class education with modern facilities. PIET also offers scholarship schemes to students who need financial assistance.

Campus life is active at PIET. There is a lot to do if you are interested in something; you can play cricket, badminton, basketball, volleyball, table tennis, and exercise in the gym after calsses. Also, there are many food outlets and cafeterias within the campus where you can hang out with friends. I love fitness, and after classes, i go straight to the gym with my friend for a two hour session.

The admission process at PIET is a hassle free process. There are two modes to apply, online and offline. I applied online, and then, after confirmation of my seat, i visited the campus for the further process. If you are living near the campus, you can directly visit the campus to confirm your seat. The admisssion team was very helpful and helped with everything until the admission was done. Seats are limited, so if you are really interested, then apply early before the seats get filled.

Dr Monika and Ms Mandeep kaur are both my favourite professors. Both are experts in cloud computing with a PhD in the same field. Their teaching approach is what i like the most; they blend theory with real life example. So, it is easy to learn the core concepts of computer applications. Other professors are also supportive and experts in their subjects. In one year of the MCA program, i never felt bored in the classroom.

Nightlife at PIET is very peaceful. Only hostellers are inside the campus, so there is less hustle bustle. The lights make PIET more beautiful than it looks during the day. After the gym, my friends and i go for a walk where we cover the campus two times. The campus is safe and secure, with a team of security guards available 24/7. Food outlets and the canteen are open till 11:00PM for students.
