Remarks

Only negative review that I have heard is that about the catering service. The catering service is bad and the hostel rooms are not so hygienic. Nonveg foods are not allowed inside the campus. Other than this there is no negative review about the college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am pursing my B.tech Biotechnology program and I chosen this field because it has wide opportunities both in India and foreign countries. The exam pattern is very simple and as same as most of the colleges do. There will be 3 cia(continuous internal assessment) in which 2 best marks out of 3 is selected and taken as internal marks.

Placement Experience

4.5

At sastra placements are good and each year the number of company recruiting the student increases. There is also special training for students for placement known as soft skills in which student is able to speak English fluently and think out of the box.

College Events

4

There are so many events happening in sastra, firstly Kuruksastra, the cultural program which occur yearly once conducted by the students association. And this cultural program is been enjoyed by the students especially the hostellers. Carpedium is a sports event, Samhitha is biotech fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Here in Tamilnadu I consider Sastra University to have cheap fee structure because other colleges like Srm,Vit,Amrita,Ssn charge more than 3 lakhs yearly whereas in sastra, they charge 1.5 lakh yearly ,which is really cheap compared to other colleges

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes sastra has scholarships, But it is available to the students whose annual income is less than 3 lakhs. And also the half of the semester fees is paid by the University if he/she gets top 2% marks in the department

Campus Life

4

Sastra has special event known as carpedium which is fully dedicated to the sports which includes football, cricket, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis. And also students who are interested in these events could join these.

Alumni/Alumna

Every year there is a meet for every department conducted by alumnis of Sastra University. So students could interact with them regarding the placements, trainings, job offers and also regarding the academics.

Admission

During my 10th standard I thought of joining B.tech degree program in IIT institute. Then I started myself preparing for JEE exam, then me and my friends joined TIME Institute for preparing JEE exam. It was a fun time,we had classes during Saturdays and sundays.During 12th we prepared really hard for exams and did not get the expected marks ,so I had the other choice of joining sastra since it is also a reputed institute and filled the application form of it. Then based on the ranking list the results were announced and got a call letter regarding the counselling process.

Faculty

4

Most of the faculties in sastra have completed PhD course and are good at teaching. Every faculty teaches us good and take special care of the slow learners. And also there is mentor for each student for taking care of their academic problems and also the personal problems.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I chose this course because it covers important subjects related to computer science, programming, databases, networking, and emerging technologies. The combination of theoretical knowledge and practical subjects influenced my decision to choose this course. The curriculum provides a good foundation in technical concepts and programming. However, more practical projects, industry-based training, internships, and real-world applications would help students become better prepared for careers and further studies.
